My Progress So Far
Well, the lesson says create a blog post on my progress, so here I am, talking about my progress thus far. My website is up and currently has about ten pages. There are a few comments from members within WA. I found finding a theme and customizing said theme to be a real challenge. I just could not settle on one I felt 'set the tone' for the vision I have for my website. I'm satisfied with it at this point but not over the moon with excitement about it's looks. Another, probably bigger, challenge was finding a niche...I just could not get it narrow enough to suit those who are sharing their expertise with me here...the constant comment was, it looks good but what is your niche? I finally just had to jump in with a broad niche and try to tackle small portions of it at a time. I'm a mother, that's where I've spent my entire adult life. It's what I'm passionate about. My site is just going to have to develop slowly over time. If it takes four times longer to see any monetary results by being in such a competitive market, so be it. (My husband isn't quite as cavalier, however, so I'd really like to have some sort of monetary validation to be able to say, see this WILL work) :) I have so many plans for this site that sometimes my head hurts. So many ideas I'd like to run with. It's been hard for me to focus on one area, and stay within that area, at a time. I'm following the lessons "to the T" and not moving forward until I've done each task laid out. So, the writing pages portion took me quite some time to complete. My goals are just to keep going. Keep working through the lessons and adding to my site. I've set aside one year for this, I'm acutely aware of the clock ticking down. I feel it's taking me a long time but I tell myself the same thing I've always told my kids: if it's worth doing...do it right. Don't hurry through something just to have to go back and redo it. Do it right...the first time. It will save you time in the long run. So, I'm putting that philosophy to the test with WA and the site I am building. After this site is up and running well, I have another one I'd like to see come to fruition. Time will tell, I guess.

Great progress Sarah. It's great to hear from you again :). For your idea issue, it's not going to be a problem. As you gain more and more experience, you'll be able to narrow down your goals.
For now stick to finding low competition keywords within your niche and writing content on that. You'll be fine.
I like what you write, you 'set aside one year for this' this tells us you are doing it thoroughly. Do not worry about clock ticking, you will be there.
