What should I do?

So yesterday I read some of our dear friend TonyHamilton's blogs.
He was talking about niches, reasons why to quit WA, etc.

It made me think and analyse my current work.

I am still working on my first site in the niche of coffee. It's not getting any visitors as of yet, and truth be told, I'm a bit less motivated by the niche lately.

My original plan was to create that site, bring it to a certain success and then jump into the affiliate Bootcamp. Now, I am wondering if it would be better financially and on the motivation side to pause my work on fanofcoffee.com and start the other site?
Or to try to write one new article per week on fanofcoffee.com while focusing more on the affiliate Bootcamp?

WA community, I need your help, your suggestions, your guidance.

Thanks

Sara

Your site is still pretty new with only a handful of posts. You do need to be patient for the results.

Consider adding more categories than "fun facts". Perhaps one could be "health benefits", another "roasting strategies", etc. That will make it seem like a more robust site to visitors. "Types of beans" could be a category with multiple articles, not just a round-up one. "Information" isn't really a category.

It's common among new bloggers to put all of their keywords into one article instead of parsing them across multiple articles so that they can keep adding new content. Think of ways to break down your information into a number of segments, then write an article on each one.

Keep adding lots more content. Google is also watching to see if you are going to keep adding or if you're already walking away from it and no longer posting - if that's the case, they won't ever rank it either.

How are you planning to monetize? Affiliate links? If so, you could start adding them now. I've worked with coffee.org in the past and they've done well.

You're off to a good start - don't give up now.

Thanks Jeannine. I have a couple other articles in the process, like type of roasting, type of brewers, etc.
I will continue with my niche instead of going to the boot camp.
Thanks for your help

Hi Sara,

This isn't about instant success. It is about a long, hard journey to the end of the rainbow.

If coffee is a niche that you are passionate about, then you need to pursue it religiously. If not, then find your passion and stick to it!

And, as Christian said, add some reviews that are related to your website.

What is your Site Trust? 20%? 30%? It can't be much more than that if you have only been trying for a couple of months.

How much content do you have on your website? A few pages does not a website make...

When you have 150,000 to 200,000 words on your website, a plethora of site-related product reviews, and a Site Trust of 100%...and you STILL aren't getting any visitors, then I think it would be time to evaluate factors to determine if you are targeting the right keywords, or using the right social media to promote your website...or, as a last resort, find someone to analyze your site.

But, the bottom line is...if you love your niche, you are married to it and, you don't get a divorce when things get low. It's gonna happen. But, there will be good times, too.

If you build it...they will come!!!

Jim

Hey Jim,
You are right, it isn't about instead success and I know that. I don't know why I've let myself lose motivation knowing that. I will continue my journey with fanofcoffee, especially that I have a couple articles on the process.
Thanks for your help

You are quite welcome, Sara! Anytime you need a push, let me know! Lord knows...I need one myself sometimes.

It isn't easy. But, in the end, it will be worthwhile!

Trust me!!!

Jim

From my perspective, stay with one. Work with that until it produces.
I made the mistake you are contemplating.
One member described it as "recipe for disaster"

Hopefully this will help.

Thanks James

Hi Sara, I would just keep plugging away with your coffee website. You already have great content there, plus you could look at writing reviews on coffee machines or sell packaged, ground coffee...

Just my few thoughts, but I'd focus on one niche site first, before moving on the next one. Keep in mind that the first site you build will not be your last.

It's all about progress, not necessarly perfection at this stage..

Keep up the good work, I'm sure it will pay off in the end:)

Hey Christian,

I will continue with my site. I think I needed a little bit of motivation and WA's community did help me.
Thanks a lot

Hey Sara,

I can see from your profile that you've been here for around one month. The truth is that your site can take anywhere from 3 to 12 months to start seeing any results - depending on how competitive your niche is and how well you understand your ranking strategies and so on.

I wouldn't be discouraged at this stage if you are not getting any visitors. I had a look at your site and it looks nice and clean, but there's only a few blogs posts which are quite short and not very many pages. Google needs to know that you are going to continue to create helpful content on a consistent basis before they start giving you rankings.

I can also see that you are only at level 2 of the certification course which means that there are probably quite a few important things that you haven't implemented into your site yet which will also affect your rankings.

Here is an article that might give you another perspective on whether to abandon this site and move to bootcamp. There's some really interesting points that I think will help you to make a deciscion about which way you're planning to go. I hope this helps you.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter, thank you so much for your reply.
I had made a sort of ''plan'' with fan of coffee with a couple of article ideas I could write about. I will continue with that path.
I think I needed motivation to keep on working on that site.
Thanks for your help

No problem at all. I can see that there are some other great answers here that hopefully give you the motivation to continue. Jeannine has definitely given some great advice about adding categories and finding ways to diversify the site.

If you ever get stuck, just let us know and we'll do our best to give you that boost of motivation that you need. We've all been there from time to time, and the great thing about WA is that there is always someone around that is willing to help. You just gotta ask!

Cheers,

Peter
