How can I make my site and esp the home page more appeasing to people to gain more traffic?
Good design and graphics help to some degree. But content and delivering good advise and reviews is important as well. Show me your site and I can offer more advise.

How can I make my site and esp the home page more appeasing to people to gain more traffic?
First thing I notice is a lot of white. Try to interface some graphics or change the background color...or both. You should also categorize your posts. Also realize that it takes time for your posts to work through the system. If you are providing relevant keywords with your posts they will be indexed by google. Also try to post to Facebook, Twitter etc... with your link back to your blog posts. Keep at it and let me know if you have other questions.
