Gratitude for my first month!
Having been part of other affiliate programs in the past, I was cautious when starting at Wealthy Affiliate only a month ago.
The old fashioned way
My first great surprise, was that one's first lessons after setup, were not in how to identify target audiences, and how to drive traffic, but more conservatively, how to write copy. Content is King they say, and one of my greatest lessons this month, was that a good structure makes content so much easier to create. Also that the more you write, the better you get!
I learnt that a good article or blog could take days to research, and more days to write. Then even more days to edit, set up links, correct, check for SEO and get listed and ranked on Google. More importantly though, I learnt that it was worth it, because this way, whatever you write is on your website. Not just on some ad on Social Media. You do the work and it takes time and effort, but its there to refer back to whenever someone needs it.
My favourite refusals
For any other Affiliate Marketers based in South Africa, brace yourself. I learnt this month that there are many Affiliate programs out there who have either never heard of our continent, or who simply believe that anyone from Africa is corrupt. I learnt that I had triggered fraud alerts, been found wanting and sometimes didn't even exist on their list of countries. I also learnt to say, WHATEVER! and move on. They won't respond to your queries, so don't bother.
I learnt that there are many platforms out there who will do business, and I hope to make them proud!
Google and I
Google makes mistakes!! I was gobsmacked. After days of struggling with a breadcrumb issue I didn't understand and learning the ins and outs of every plugin known to man, I learnt on this very platform from a very helpful gentleman called AbleDragon that Google was wrong, and how to fix their problem for them.
What next?
I am ready for the Silly Season to provide me with my first affiliate sales. I am sharing my content on Social Media.
I have just completed the Social Media level of the trianing. Woohooo!
Basically, I'm feeling satisfaction with what I've accomplished that months of other platforms have given me.
I would like to say to you, my friends in Wealthy Affiliate "Thank you!"
Thanks for the help, and support, and guidance, and responses.
Thanks for being patient with us newbies, and most of all, thanks for helping me create a future for myself and my family that is; more than....
Stay blessed.

Blessings to you too, Sam. Goodness, sorry to hear you somehow triggered fraud alerts! How did I escape that? Touch wood.
