I'm still pulling my hair out.
I don't know how to repair this problem.
When I do a URL inspection on Google Search Console, I get a response that the URL is on Google,

Hi Sam,

This could very well be a Google Search Console problem, not one for your website. GSC has been raising false positives with increasing frequency over the past year.

I wrote a blog post a while ago on addressing the Breadcumbs errors, it also links to a video on how to identify false positives from GSC. You can see it here: That may help, although if the error you're being notified of is a genuine error then it won't.

Cheers,

Martin.

Thanks! I'll have a look.

Thanks Martin!
I've done so much that I now wonder whether it would have been fine from the beginning, but it is now in the validation process. Deeply appreciated!
Sam

You're very welcome :)

Hey Sam,

To discover what MIGHT work for you is to Google search "Schema & Structured Data for WP causes missing field "item" in Google analytics" (without the quotation marks, of course) and read through the posts offering suggestions.

ALWAYS backup your website BEFORE making any changes so that you will have a way to restore your website if worse comes to worse and one of the suggestions breaks your website.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, but no.
I've done that. Installed and Uninstaller Schema and other ordered data plugins.changed various themes, tried to adjust the html, installed various trouble shooting plug-ins, and removed them again.
I've now asked the backoffice guys to help. They wrote a new site map, which I've installed. Now it's wait and see till Google indexes the site again.
Hold thumbs!
I'll write a whole blog about it once I figure this one.

Have you gone to the plugin developer's support page to see if tickets have been added (the search I suggested would help find it) with a resolve offered... just a thought.

I do realize this can be frustrating. Thankfully, I stuck with my plugin developer while he resolved this type of issue and now all is working perfectly.

Best wishes in finding a resolve.

I do appreciate the suggestion. I can't identify which plug-in is doing it, or even if it is a plug-in,, so let's just see for now.

Have you tried deactivating all plugins? Thats how I would start troubleshooting. If that doesn't fix it I would change to basic wp theme like twenty twenty. If those don't fix it you need to contact sitesupport (which you can do anyways) because the problem has to be at server. Hooe this helps!

Thanks, but no. I've done both those to no avail.
Apparently there are breadcrumbs that are pointing at nowhere, but I don't know how to fix them.

As a matter of fact, until three days ago, I thought breadcrumbs were things you found in the kitchen when your kids don't clean up.
