Use Time Management to your Advantage
Like most people starting a business of any kind the biggest issues come with Time Management.
Let's face the truth. You are trying the juggle your current job, family, and working on getting you business off the ground. Your dilemma of when to do what comes into play almost daily. You work 40 plus hours at you job. The kids have baseball, basketball, dance, school field trip, or some other activity. Then comes that family reunion 300 miles away.
After doing the running from here to there and getting meals out of the way you need to look for a way to squeeze in the time for the business. You know the business, remember the affiliate business you started so you could be your own boss.
First few thing you will need is a true and proven way to organize you tasks. You, as a business owner may or may not have good organizational skills. If you don't have these skills I have a few suggestions.
- Don't get caught up in more than one task at a time. Focusing on too many tasks at once will make you crazy and loose focus on you primary objective. Focusing one completing one task before moving on the the next.
- Set time or objective goals in which a task will be completed. A time goal base on specific task. Give yourself say, 30 to 60 minutes to create a post or 15 to 20 minutes to contact leads. An objective goal could be based upon completing a train within Wealthy Affiliate. Another objective goal would be to do some research on the content you are looking to create.
- Eliminate distractions. We all have certain distractions such as the kids running around the house or the television from the next room. If you don't have your own private office space to hide and lock yourself away. Wait until the kids are in bed or try to make them aware of what you are doing. Explain to them you need to up yourself in "Time Out" for a little while and do some homework.
- Write things down. Make yourself a list of daily objectives, not everyday has to the same. True, some thing do need to be and should be done daily. But you can organize some thing to be do every other day or once a week, PRIORITIZE! One suggestion I have seen in the past is to read your daily objectives on a dry erase board or a note pad. Place this directly in a location where you will be doing your work. MAKE IT VISIBLE!!
-
Make you business fun. Don't get caught in the mindset of this needs to be done, then, that needs to be done, and lets not forget to be doing this. Over thinking or thinking or too much at one time will cause you stress and loose the idea of having fun with what you are doing. Take thing one step at a time. Eventually it will pay off.
Thank You and have a Great Day!!

Always a problem I have... I try and do too many things at once and end up not finishing one task! Which snowballs and creates more work in the longrun. Thanks for the reminder!
I still have this problem at time. The toughest part is focusing on one task at a time. You know there is so much you want to accomplish and just a short time to do it.
Having a daily check list of "need to do" and "want to do" has helped me. Some thing have to get done daily. Some things can be done every other day or even once a week.
I am definitely going to follow your direction - I often get side-tracked and need to FOCUS on the task at hand!
