Stepping Off The Train
Today I want to talk about taking a break from WA or as the title refers to it "Stepping off the train". My first couple of weeks I went gangbusters on the program. I got all the way into course 4, had done many things here on the WA site, had my website up and running, got involved with some affiliate programs and got banners and links on my pages and posts. Whew!! I was wore out and my head was spinning. I really needed a break to take care of other things in my life, so I decided I would lay off WA for a day or so.
Here's the thing........In taking a break, YOU BREAK YOUR MOMENTUM!!
Yes, the train comes to a halt, you stop the roll that you were on and it can be very difficult to get it rolling again. It has taken me a week to get back to being productive on my website and active in the WA community.Again using the analogy of the train, have you noticed how easily it is to tell if a train is just getting started or if it has been going for a while. Have you ever stopped to think about what it took to get that train up to full speed? Starting out is a very slow process but once it builds up speed, it's smooth rolling.
Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't take a break here and there. We are all human and don't need to push ourselves to the point of burnout because that would be counterproductive. What I am saying is when you decide you need some time plan it out. Plan the day you will start your 'mini-vacation' and the day you will get back to work. Make absolutely sure that you can stick to these plans. Have a plan for what you will accomplish on your first day back. Will you add a page to your website? Post a blog on WA? Help out some newcomers that are having a hard time? It doesn't matter what, just have the plan in place and stick to it.
Personally, I have been going crazy trying to figure out the password for my website email. I forgot it because I hadn't signed on in a week and there is no place to retrieve it on the Atmail login screen. So.....after getting totally frustrated with that I decided to write this blog and next on my agenda is to Upgrade to Yearly here on the WA site. I believe in Kyle and Carson and the WA community that much. I don't want anything to happen where I get financially strapped and can't afford my monthly fee so upgrading while I have the money to do it will insure my spot here at WA.
Ok.....I'm done rambling.......I have work to do!! If you do get overwhelmed visit my site at cybernetcounselor.com and try the relaxation techniques I have posted there!! Ciao for now...

We need to learn at a steady pace, so that we do not feel burned out! Most of us go headlong into everything and then get discombobulated. Pace yourself, but do not stop altogether.
I can also relate....and I am new. I think everyone feels overwhelmed at times. As you mention...it is important to strike a balance between WA (and work in general) and everyday life to avoid burn out. :)
Thanks for your reply. As a counselor I have studied these things and it still caught me off guard.
I can totally relate to your frustration. I have had this happen so often in the last few months, and sadly, professional progress took a back seat to other things going on in my life. Sometimes it's unavoidable. BUT I can also say, that sometimes the bounce back is really productive after that initial set-back. The ball gets rolling and the creative juices start flowing. Before you know it you'll be back in the swing of it all. Keep with it!

That's some good insight, although I lost my train pass, maybe is in the wash, need to go fetch it. I wanted to check and see how you were doing, and, well now I know. Good luck with that password!
