So my website, www.photographyontheside.com is SUPER slow. And the design sucks. But it's been like that for years.
I'm scared to change it because I make about $500 / m
It loaded quick for me too and I like your site very much - I have to say. I especially liked that it is "bare bones", not much "eye candy" to distract from your content (which is what your visitor is going there for in anyway). The design does not suck at all, I quite like it, no that's not true, I really like it! ;-) LOL! Hubby always says "If it aint broken, don't fix it!" :-)

It didn't take too much time to load here... And if you are making money already and rank well... I don't think I would change it... I don't think you need to pay for a theme they're pretty good free ones
Seems fine on Android. I didn't run a speed test but seemed to navigate like other sites I visit. Hope this helps!

Hi Ryan
From a user perspective, I would just say that your site is excellent and really easy to navigate! Very professional all round appearance and your content!
I’ve just viewed off my iPhone and there is no problem with speed my side!
Good work!!
Wayne
Well that's interesting.
Thanks for the feedback Wayne!
Maybe I'll just focus on content....I really dont' want to mess around with WP design right now.
But thought that if my page is loading super slow it will affect my SEO rankings and bounce rate.
Hmm
Thanks!
RYan
I have learned 2 things along my way here. First of all plug inns. I understand you may need many but if you can deactivate any that you do not need all the time helps.
Another thing I have learned is that if you went through trying themes they build up and google try to crawl them as well so it is better if you delete the extra ones.
Hey Ryan,
I checked your site and its loading fantastically.
Check page speed

if you still feel, it's slow and sucks, my suggestion is to change the theme!!!
Regards,
Shubhaangi.
I can completely understand your hesitation. When you redesign your website, you are just changing the way it looks and nothing else. Especially with wordpress. You won't be changing the articles or anything like that. So, it shouldnt change your seo or your following you already have. Change sometimes can be scarey, but you may be surprised when you get it changed that you do better.
Sorry thought of something else to say...
There are two parts to your website:
1. The look
2. the content
Changing the look should not impact the content which is seo rich

I'm looking for websites of photographers that have a "resources" or "what's in my bag" page where they use affiliate links.
Do you have or know of any photographers tha
I came across this site earlier today, and I noticed that it referenced quite a few "affiliate" offerings for photography.

Hi Joshua --- hey, that' the blog post I just published on Monday! Can I ask you how you "came across" it? Was it through WA or did you find it on Google? Maybe you don't remember. :)
Sorry Ryan, but I don't remember where I saw it.
I used to be big in photography when I was stationed with the US Air Force in West Germany, so, when I came across that blog post, it caught my attention right away. Then later, I came across this post asking about photography affiliates, and once again, my interest was piqued.
But, there has to be some examples out there. If not, there ought to be! I hope you find what you're looking for.
Continued success,
Joshua
I have a photo website and one affiliate link to Dreamstime on it, I don't know if you mean that kind of links, it's a blog photo sharing website.
Thank you, most pictures are made by my husband, and the country pictures are donated by WA members:)
Take a look at ultimate bundles, they have a photography course launch that started yesterday and you can become an affiliate for them.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
Thanks but that's not really what I'm looking for. I'm looking for photographers that have a "tools and resources" page on their website.
On messenger look up Tom Serafin Photography just for fun. He might have what you need. He is also on FB as Thomas Tommy Serafin. He's my boss at kids camp. Tell him Jack sent you. He'll charge you double. Waka Waka.
I looked him up on Google and found his website. He doesn't have a "tools and resources" page on his photography website. hmmm
Thanks though!

Update: A bit of research shows that duplicat content is ok. Read more here - https://blog
One thing that may help you decide, WA itself doesn't allow you to publish 'copied content' here. So I'm guessing it works both ways. As in, publishing content on your site that was originally posted here would make the original WA post duplicate content. So probably not something Kyle/ Carson are wanting you to do.
Here's where I got this from: Spam is a NO NO! It's going to be better for your site in terms of ranking to be publishing unique content too. Without a doubt. You may not be 'penalized' for it by Google but you are going to rank better if you are offering their users unique content. So I recommend choosing one or the other man, and stick to that.
Thanks Tim. I guess I'm wondering, for which content, I should be publishing on my WA blog here and which should go on my new "make money online" blog. Posting here is tempting because there is an instant audience. Posting on my own blog is tempting because I want more content and authority on my new blog.
Ahhh!
Any suggestions?
No probs :) I'd personally focus on posting 'keyword rich' content (based on what the training shows you) on your blog, as this is your asset and something you want to use to grow your traffic.
Posting here within WA is also great, as it's a way to help and connect with people. What you post here can also rank, but generally speaking I'm more inclined to post stuff that's not targeting any specific keyword. So just interesting, inspiring, helpful content that you know the WA community will benefit from, as oppose to a "review about X product" or an article targeting a specific question like "how to make money answering questions on __" or something to that effect.
That's my approach anyways, what you do is up to you really.
Hey Ryan
I ask this question yesterday and PreshusLove had a good answer similar to those below. Probably not a good idea it seems the consensus, duplicate content.
I asked because I read a while back that someone said if you reuse a post make sure to change the title.
It doesn’t matter to me I am writing fresh posts for Super Affiliate.
Cheers
Wayne
I don't think it's a good idea. And I read the whole article from your link. Even if you don't get penalized, and you might because WA is a huge, established site with a lot of traffic...your site could be seen as the little site copying content form a bigger site.
No matter what, it still hurts your credibility to copy content verbatim. Why not just tweak and rewrite and then publish on your site.
I would personally not duplicate it, but write a different post. Because WA blog post can rank too in Google so they can be seen in my opinion, as duplicates.
I will definitely not copy and past a post from here or my website to post it on either platforms.
It's interesting because I know some big bloggers like James Clear has had his posts used on other big sites like Huffington Post. So it appears that in some cases it's ok. Maybe if Google knows its the same author then it's ok? Hmm...
It’s a duplicate content as any blog within WA also be Get indexed by google. Is your decision WA or your site.
Frankly, Google doesn’t penalize duplicate content but its definitely affect your ranking. Gosh, Does Google Penalize Duplicate Contents?
Interesting question. I think it would be seen as duplicate content , but am not sure so will follow this post.
Doesn't look like it'll matter --- https://blog.kissmetrics.com/myths-about-duplicate-content/
Interesting, I do notice the post was 2014 and comments have been closed on it , not sure.i would risk duplicate content.

Think I would avoid word for word.
I have always rewritten articles, basically the same info but arranged or worded differently.

I had a site that I moved to a different domain.
But when I share the new domain name / site url with someone on FB, the "preview" shows the OLD site domain name.
Hey Ryan, I checked the source code on your home page and the title is set to "Passive Income for Anyone".
You want it to be "Passive Income For Anyone" correct? If so, make sure you are using the correct title within your site title itself and within any SEO plugins you are using.
This should help with the title within WordPress: How To Change Website Title and Tagline As for the SEO plugin settings, I recommend going through this training if you're using All In One SEO: Hello All In One SEO Once you're confident you've got this setup right, you may want to use this tool to 're-scrape' your home page:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing
Let me know how you go and if you have any other questions. Cheers
Thanks a bunch Tim. I'll find time today to go through that All in One SEO tutorial (on 2x speed of course). :)
Please read the example below...
Your website http://yourwebsite.com is redirecting to http://yournewwebsite.com because you moved the site to this domain. This redirect tells Google and other search engines that your website has moved and it's important to keep in place for 30 days to maintain rankings and traffic. You may delete this website at any time but we suggest leaving it in place until at least month, day, year. Please keep in mind that deleting your site prior to 30 days could affect traffic and rankings of the new site.
Ok. Thanks. Yea....but is there something I need to do that will change the name/title and description when I share the link around social media?

I checked it out, it loaded slowly for me with .8mbps wifi download speed on a local network.
