Paying it forward literally

I know everyone here is told to pay it forward and you must at some point in training. These attributes are great within WA, I think it is important and allows you to interact with others from all over the world.

I'm not sharing this to pat myself on my back or my wife so please don't read this and think that. I have a hard time with the Christmas season mostly because of the commercialism of the holiday. I do enjoy watching my children get gifts, but they know the true meaning of the season.

Anyway on with my point of paying it forward, I work in the Oilfield's of West Texas which is taking a drop due to the price of oil. My wife told me of a post on FB of a couple hurting for a pair of steel toe boots so her husband could start his job on Monday. I told my wife I didn't wear 12 to 13, but I told her to tell the lady on FB that we would find her some by that evening. My wife asked me were I was going to get the boots and I told her we had to go out I was just going to buy him a pair.

When we returned home that evening and stopped by this couple's house I could here her thankfulness from my pickup. I wanted to share this story because I don't always think of it that way when paying it forward here at WA. However it got me thinking how many people actually appreciate it every time we pay it forward whether it be comments or feedback on other's sites.
I hope you think of this the next time you pay it forward with someone's site comments or feedback.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your New Year be full of blessings and success.

Robert

Robert, what a great example you're sharing here. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment and you are welcome.

Lovely example to share this holiday season. And you know that 100% of it went to the person in need. Diana

I agree it was touching is all I can say to hear the gratitude my wife received while she was delivering the boots.

I LOVE hearing stories like this! We are doing something similar for one of the little boys in my husband's cub scout troop. This is the first year that we have been in the position financially to help someone in this way, and I think it is just as good for my soul as it is for the father we are helping. I love the spirit of giving back on WA as well.

Thank you for sharing your story as well. I appreciate it and I'm sure others will too as they read the comments.

Hi Robert,

Sometiimes it is good to let people know what you have done to provide inspiration to who knows how many others to do the same or more...

It is not always good to take a passive role when it comes sharing your giving...We need to hear that others are giving, why can't we?

Cheers M8 and I am sure that what goes around comes around....A good thing in your case!

Dave : )

I appreciate that Dave. I still have a hard time sharing, but it is because I don't want it to be misunderstood as bragging. I believe you do out of the goodness of your heart and others will see, but in this case I had to share it.
Thank you,
Robert

Deed in heart and spirit. You are one of a kind. Happy holidays!

Thank you and Happy Holidays to you as well.

What a sweet gesture. Thanks for sharing and have a very merry Christmas!

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you as well.

Nicely done Robert. I know I appreciate it when folks chip in to help me

Thank you and may you have a wonderful holiday.

Hey Robert, you are a true gentleman. May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas my friend. To you it was a pair of boots. To that family it meant the world!

Thank you, I could tell by the reaction my wife got while delivering them to the couple. I could hear and see her reaction and I knew it made a difference in their lives. I come from humble beginnings and I have never forgotten how people helped my mother out. I find it important to give back when I have the opportunity to do so.

I am also from humble beginnings Robert which I think makes us appreciate more the things that we have worked so hard to achieve. This in itself I feel makes it easier to appreciate others in a less privileged position. Thanks for sharing Robert.

It sometimes does more for ME to pay it forward than for the person I helped. That was a very nice thing that you did. Christmas IS a time for miracles.......

I know what you mean, I feel if I can be a blessing to someone then I will go out of my way to pay if forward.

Oil patch is tough now at $35/bbl Best wishes for your entrepreneurial success.

Thank you it is appreciated.
