Will Twitter Become A Powerful Tool For Internet Marketers?

As many of you know, Twitter has just been purchased by Elon Musk, which I believe is a great move!

I don't think that many of us on Wealthy Affiliate use the Twitter platform, although I know there are a few. I have been on Twitter for many years and have a few accounts. The best thing about Twitter is that it is quick to reply to people and easy to read tweets. I also find it far less cumbersome platforms like Facebook that seem extremely clumsy after platforms like Twitter! Twitter is also very easy-to-use, on a smart phone.

I know many people who started in the early days with Twitter and were able to get a huge following quickly and grow their business. However, in the last few years it appears that Twitter has changed its narrative hugely. In other words, if they don't like what you are tweeting, they won't show your tweets! There's also been a massive problem with members losing huge amounts of followers overnight, I don't mean one or two followers, I mean thousands! This is totally wrong and unreasonable.

I believe with any social media platform that we should be able to express ourselves in a reasonable way. In other words, we may not agree with someone, but we can have a good discussion about the subject! Sadly, in the last few years Twitter has not allowed this to take place with many subjects.

I believe that things could all change now that Elon Musk has taken over. I'm sure that he has a great plan for Twitter. I believe that many people in Twitter will be sacked, it already looks like the data engineers have been laid off. Let's hope that good things happen!

I think that Twitter could become a very powerful social media tool for the future. I already know a few people who were banned from Twitter that have now been reinstated! Good news!

What are your thoughts on Twitter?

Do use it or will you be using Twitter?

Do you think it could be powerful for Internet marketers.

Thanks for reading, your thoughts are appreciated.

Hello Roy,

I have been a long-time user of Twitter. Fortunately, none of my tweets have been blocked. When I do the social media part of my posts I always complete the Facebook and Twitter sections.

Elon Musk is a very forward thinker so we'll see what changes he will make. He needs advertising income and lots of it to justify his huge investment. I feel his main challenge will be to ride a fine line between minimizing tweeting restrictions and keeping the advertisers happy.

This is going to be a wild ride!

Cheers.

Edwin

Good morning Edwin,

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, it's appreciated.

Yes, I'm the same, a long-time user of Twitter! I don't think I have ever had a tweet blocked, but maybe they just restrict what people see. Many times when I like and retweet a tweet, the likes go down and so do the retweets! Something is wrong!

It sounds like you are using Facebook and Twitter in a good way to market your business. That's a good way of not losing too much time.

I agree very much with your second paragraph, Edwin; Elon is certainly a very clever man. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few months. I'm expecting good things, let's see what happens.

Have a great Sunday.

Roy

I have a Twitter account but I am not that active.

Finally, Elon Musk owns Twitter. It has been very controversial lately.

But I hope this is for the better. I heard a lot of negative things about Twitter but I will see how things will change. Then perhaps, I will consider using the platform more often.

A blessed Sunday, Roy. ☺

Good morning, Alice,

I believe that quite a few people have a Twitter account that is inactive or used very little!

I'm actually surprised that Elon Musk paid the full price for Twitter! However, I'm sure that he has a great plan ahead!

I believe that Twitter will become much more friendly and will be used as a free speech platform. Social media should be a place where we can discuss topics even if we disagree. It will be interesting to see what the changes bring.

Have a great day and thank you for commenting.

Roy

Ok, I will be honest! :) Sorry how to disagree we are!
Right to mention in the start that Twitter has never been popular here in Iceland, but 80% of the nation is on Facebook.
I use Twitter to send links to new articles from me. That's it!
There are a few things I like less than Twitter. The algorithm there are so stupid. It is built up in the way that people that are agreed are together and don´t see people that disagree! So they believe all agree with them, no matter how stupid/bad/dangerous or good their opinion is.
I agree that it was very wrong many times when they locked accounts etc.,
But the few things they did right was when they cleaned social media of dangerous and wrong talks, racism, support violence, etc.
That Musk managed to own the media are just horrible. That will change really bad social media to horrible open for a lot of bullshit or fake news, and that is very bad, not only for Twitter but for all social media!

Good morning Johann,

Thanks for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated!

We are here to have a discussion, so I'm more than happy if someone disagrees with me!

I'm not sure what the stats are here in the UK, but I guess they are similar to the UK.

I think even if you just use Twitter to share articles, that's fair enough, I am sure it helps to give your article traction.

I agree with you; the logarithm is ridiculous, the idea of social media is that we have a discussion, whether we agree or not!

No one in their right mind should want violence, racism, etc., That is just wrong, however, Twitter does not like anything that doesn't suit the narrative!

Sadly, in this world, many things that were known to be wrong years ago are now acceptable. We had the President of the United States banned from Twitter and yet we have terrorists on the platform!

I think we have to wait and see what Elon Musk does with the platform, maybe I'll write another post in a few month's time.

Have a great day.

Roy

Very interesting Roy! I have personally never used Twitter or any other SM platform for that matter!

But I do have a lot of respect for Mr Musk and all he has accomplished... I find him a thoroughly down to earth kind of guy (despite the billions he has amassed) and he always seems to want to help others when he can!

All pluses in my book, so maybe I will sign up for a Twitter account before long... lets see!!

Good morning Nick,

I appreciate you taking the time to read my blog post and comment.

Do you know, the fact that you haven't used a social media form is probably quite a good thing! At least you're not losing any time!

I personally believe that Elon Musk taking over Twitter will be a good thing, let's wait and see.

For your information, I do like the ease of use that Twitter has compared with other social media platforms.

Have a great day.

Roy

Good afternoon Roy!

It's always a pleasure to read what you have to say...

I may have to take the plunge one day as many say that SM can help our businesses!

Thanks for the advice about Twitter and enjoy the rest of your Sunday my friend!

Good morning Nick,

Thank you for your kind words, I do appreciate it.

Twitter is certainly good for speed and the fact that tweets are reasonably short.

I'm very hopeful that Twitter will become good again, but time will tell. I think most of us just want an honest social media platform where we can share our views without being penalised. Maybe I will write a post in a few more weeks regarding Twitter to see how things are going.

Have a great week.

Roy

Sounds great Roy.. I will certainly be waiting for that post my friend!

Hi Roy,

I remember reading about Twitter ten years ago when it was still in its infancy. I believe it's original intention was for sports fans and other individuals to tweet live reactions or to tweet something "in the moment". It was never meant to be used like Facebook. It was meant to be reactive with its tweets.

I've always admired Elon Musk as a businessman and his journey in building space X and Tesla. He's actually an introvert, like myself - for those who think he's weird. Personally, I'd rather have him in charge instead of the three nut case individuals that were running Twitter before Musk gave them the axe.

The only reason I pulled back from using it is because of how toxic it's become. It's full of a ton of trolls with low IQs hiding behind their avatars who's only purpose on there is not to debate - but antagonize. They can't all be bots.

Just my thoughts, Roy
Appreciate the post!
Isaiah 😊

Good morning Isaiah,

I hope that you're doing well. Thank you for commenting on my blog post.

Yes, I believe that you are correct, it enabled people to comment on real-time sports events, quite amazing, really!

I hear you, Isaiah, Elon Musk is very unique! I think it's great when we use our individuality and forget what others think! He definitely is doing the right thing removing the nutcases! I'm sure that he has a great plan.

Yes, I am 100% with you, Isaiah, regarding your last paragraph, that is so true. A lot of people left the platform for that reason and some of them were just banned!

Your thoughts are the same as my thoughts, Isaiah! Great minds think alike!

A very happy Sunday to you.

Roy
