Are You Blogging About What You Have Learnt Or What AI Has Told You?
Since entering 2023, we have heard a lot about artificial intelligence, especially on the Wealthy Affiliate platform. As many of you know, I have to admit that I was one of the people who was against AI, and I still am, to a certain extent. However, the great thing is that Wealthy Affiliate is teaching us the correct way to use AI and how to use it as an efficient tool to help to grow our online business.
The main reason I still have reservations about artificial intelligence is the fact that I do believe it will be used for evil in the future. But that’s not the subject for this platform, we are being taught how to benefit from AI and for business purposes.
I was reading Cassi’s post the other day, which led me to write this blog post.
You can see Cassi’s post below.
So What Is Blogging? At Wealthy Affiliate, I would refer to a blog being about our progress, something that we have learned or something about the training or maybe struggles that we are having on a particular subject. In other words, it should be sharing our experience with others, which in turn helps to motivate other members.
I personally really like to hear other member's stories about how they are making progress, questions and struggles etc. And, of course, it’s great to hear about when a member has their first sale or a major success story!
I must admit I’ve learnt so much from reading and responding to various different threads on this great platform. And this is what I believe is all about, learning from each other and helping each other and sharing our progress etc.
Artificial IntelligenceI’m really grateful for all the training on artificial intelligence on the platform, it’s been unbelievably helpful! If it wasn’t for the AI training on the platform, I definitely wouldn’t be using AI! I will just be running it down!! It just shows how careful we need to be before we speak!!
AI can give us fantastic ideas for blog posts. However, it just lacks that personal touch, there is just something about AI content that doesn’t ring true!
Your knowledge or AI’s knowledge?Sadly, it appears on Wealthy Affiliate that I will start reading a blog post and realise that it’s not the author who has written it, it’s basically AI. As soon as I realise this, I just stop reading as it’s not coming from the heart or a genuine experience!
If you are relying totally on AI to write your blog posts, I believe that it will really hinder your personal growth. One of the many things that I like about the Wealthy Affiliate platform is how we can learn so much in such a short time. It really is amazing! AI removes that joy of learning when we use it in the wrong way.
If everyone was using AI to write, we would probably have a lot of duplicate type content and a lot of wrong information. AI is a tool that can help us, but we still need to take extreme care with accuracy etc.
To ConcludeWe have to remember why Wealthy Affiliate brings so much value. I believe it’s through learning, applying and sharing what we have learnt to the community. In this way, we can all learn together and help each other.
AI is a great tool that can help us with our online business, but we cannot lose our uniqueness. If we do, we are quickly going to become extremely boring! Don’t just echo what AI has told you, be yourself, be unique and be what you were created to be!
Final ThoughtsAre you using AI’s knowledge, or are you using your own thoughts on what you have learned?
Are you trying to keep your Wealthy Affiliate rank high?
Do you read blog posts which have apparent AI content?
Thank you for reading. Thoughts are appreciated.

I share your thoughts, Roy, I have also become familiar with the AI content and can immediately recognise that it is written by AI. As you mention, @Kyle always emphasize that AI content does not have a feeling; the reader can determine it. However, some authors do not edit; just put their blog directly to what chatgpt responded. At least they shall edit, and add their personal experiences and thoughts to add some value to the article
Good morning Tugrul,
Thank you for your comment. I do appreciate it. I will probably write another blog post soon regarding the new hubs and the writing features, etc. I don't like to run anything down, but I don't think the AI blog writer is quite what it's made out to be, in my experience! Although, I would like to experiment a bit more before I write a blog on the subject.
Sadly, now within the top 10 blogs, there are many I just ignore as I know it's AI content. Whereas before, I would have probably read sometimes all the top 10 blogs.
AI seems to produce a lot of watery and nothing type content, it will end in tears for many people! I am glad that you can see through it, Tugrul; well done.
Let me take this opportunity to wish you a very happy new year.
Roy
Thank you very much Roy. I will look forward to your article. I believe it will have informative insights. I wish a happy new year to you and to your family as well
I can't even begin to tell you about all the poor qualify affiliates who have tried to apply to one of our networks. We can tell that all the articles and images were produced by AI. We decline them all, and if one sneaks past our initial review, then as soon as we catch them we kick them out and withhold all their commissions.
I will not read a blog post with apparent AI content. I will not read a post on WA from anyone who sings the praises of AI. I know you didn't do the work and I don't trust the AI results.
Good morning Jeannine,
Thank you for your input, it's appreciated.
That's interesting, Jeannine, I'm not surprised, judging by some of the content that I have seen! As you know, I was initially against AI and I still am to a certain extent. However, the Wealthy Affiliate training is teaching us to use AI as a tool rather than for writing content.
The problem that I see is that AI makes some absolutely horrendous and blatantly wrong assumptions. I have seen it many times! Many people in their rush to write content, will ignore the mistakes, so the Internet will end up with some awful information!
I would definitely say to use AI with great care and as a tool, as Wealthy Affiliate is teaching.
Have a great day.
Roy
You've hit the nail on the head, Roy!
AI does provide incorrect content. Too many people don't take the time to question what was just spit out by AI in their quest to produce hundreds of thousands of words in a month. There are already lawsuits about incorrect information provided by AI which slandered someone. Given that WA focuses on MMO, we are dealing with people's finances here; I think a lawsuit filed against an author who provided poor or incomplete information is just a matter of time.
Good morning Jeannine,
Thank you for your comment, I do appreciate it.
Even before I went to the Wealthy Affiliate training on AI, I could see the dangers of the software. There is no doubt that AI can be used to help for some ideas etc. For example, sometimes I require one of my YouTube videos to be transcribed, which YouTube can do, but it does not punctuate it. AI will punctuate the transcription, however, it needs to be checked, because it can add and take away things!!
I have been slightly testing out the hubs and the new AI writing platform. To me, AI is much better for brainstorming ideas rather than writing. When you know your niche, it's almost quicker and less frustrating to write something from scratch. To be honest, I was telling me a load of untruths, it would probably potentially sound nice to some readers, but the fact was that it was totally inaccurate!
I was in a conversation with Eric the other day and we mentioned about the number of Wealthy Affiliate blogs that I used to read, but just ignore them now as they are AI trash!
I was writing about a subject the other day, and AI tries to make things politically correct and eco-friendly, which in turn, equals absolute rubbish! The phrase that I used to Eric was " "Let's delve into this eco-friendly diverse article and talk nonsense"!!!" I added the last three words! But why do we have to delve in, and why does everything have to be eco-friendly!! It just shows how AI has been set up!
So in two years' time or less, AI will be scraping articles from the Internet and creating even more rubbish than it is now, I believe!
This is very interesting about the lawsuits etc, Jeannine, I'm not surprised! I think the problem is that many people just want to loads of content just for the sake of it, we know it's not about that!
Sorry for the slightly long reply, but it's just how I see things!
Have a great day.
Roy
PS: I do recommend that people go through the training here at Wealthy Affiliate on AI, as I think people are getting the wrong end of the stick regarding AI. It can help and be a useful tool, but it does need to be used with great care and consideration.
I just had someone in the Top 200 absolutely slam me for identifying her content as AI, claiming that since I identified it, her other readers on WA would do the same. But reading her content followed by her comments let me know that the post wasn't in her words.
No one seems to worry about AI Hallucinations? There's even an official term about how AI makes up stuff just to provide an answer. That's how lawsuits get started.
So if the "writer" doesn't even review what was said, doesn't add their own thoughts, doesn't put it in their own voice, can they claim it as their own content?
I, too, am no longer reading many WA posts once I see who authored them, as I know that there's not a single original idea included. My time is worth more than that, and if I really wanted the info, I can just craft my own AI query directly instead of going through someone else's link or blog post.
Thanks for taking the time to craft an excellent response!
Jeannine
Good morning Jeannine,
I also had a similar thing happen, Jeannine! People don't seem to like it when it's pointed out to them, but I did manage to calm them down! I think many people think they are changing AI content by putting the content through Grammarly and changing two or three words!!😉
I spend a reasonable amount of time on the Wealthy Affiliate platform. We do get to know member's style of writing and when it suddenly changes to AI, it's highly recognisable!
AI hallucinations! That's a good way of putting it! Just for your interest, I am taking a certification course with Camtasia, which is video recording screen and editing software. After each module, I take a short test about what I have learnt; sometimes, I have to go back to the training videos, to find the answer.
The sad thing is that people aren't really interested if the content is accurate, it's more about getting posts out and populating your blog! You cannot just believe AI, blog posts need to come from genuine knowledge and experience! Although their blog post probably has their name to it, it's not their content at all!
However, for a bit of fun, I have been asking AI the questions, to see how it answers! It gives the most wonderful and detailed answers; they come over as brilliant! BUT; it only gets 50% of the answers right, despite giving me the reason why AI is right! To me, that says a lot!
I agree, Jeannine, regarding the Wealthy Affiliate blog posts, it's a great shame, because many of them used to be very genuine. We can learn from people's wins and we can help people who are struggling! I also believe it's very important to keep on topic, when we are on the platform! We are writing on an Internet marketing training platform, not Facebook or a fairy tale platform.
I'm sure you are aware that my original post is from around four months ago. Since then, I have been through quite a bit of training from Kyle and Jay, which has been helpful. But as I mentioned yesterday, AI can definitely help us, especially for brainstorming, but it does need to be used with extreme care.
Just a couple of days ago, my Webmaster asked ChatGPT something regarding one of my websites. He probably used a very good prompt, but it did give some great, valuable information extremely quickly. Once again, this was not for writing posts; it was using AI to assist our goals and ideas, etc.
Thank you for your thoughts etc, Jeannine. I noticed that you also responded to Kyle's comment. It's an interesting thread.
Have a great day.
Roy
Evening Roy!
AI when used correctly as an aid to us can certainly speed up our content creation!
It's not tricky to spot AI generated blogs on the platform though and I totally agree that I much prefer to read about members actual personal experiences not just paragraph after paragraph of generated factual boredom!
Great read my friend and enjoy the rest of your week! :-)
Good evening Nick,
It's good to hear from you. I hope you're doing well.
I couldn't agree more, Nick! I'm really grateful for the Wealthy Affiliate training on AI, as it has really opened my eyes! If it wasn't for the training, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be using AI or even have touched it!
AI has that certain touch to it, which lacks personality and much more! That's very true, we do not want too much factual boredom! A great way of putting it.
Thank you, Nick, you have a great week, too.
Roy
Hey Roy!
I've been away for a couple of weeks but doing well thanks!
The training here about AI is a real eye opener but I believe we all must be careful how we use it my friend! :-)
Good morning Nick,
I'm glad all is well with you, that's good to hear.
Yes, I couldn't agree more, Nick! The training here, regarding AI, has really opened my eyes and been helpful. If it wasn't for the Wealthy Affiliate training, I would not be using AI!
Have a great day.
Roy
I agree that AI content, unless well edited is bland.
However, it is a good tool to grow with.
Sami
Hello Sami,
Thank you for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated.
I agree that AI can be a great tool to help our online business and thankfully Wealthy Affiliate has some great teaching on the subject!
However, it still needs that human input and needs to be real and from the heart!
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Roy

Hey Roy,
We are going to be taking a hard stance again AI "created" content here, and people that are using it are going to lose posting privileges. There is a stark difference between AI Assisted, and AI created.
Anyone that that is copying and pasting GPT, Bard, or Claude content directly into a post here, or anywhere else, is not going to benefit from this behaviour. The reality is that this content is evident, it is uninteresting, and it is very obvious.
We are moving into a world where AI is going to help us with a lot of the heavy lifting with any informational side task, but it is not going to do all the work for us. We support the assisted element, and the tools and platforms we are building are there to assist on in their business (and it will do the bulk of the work and research). But we are still the creative entities and directors behind the content creation, and behind the publication o the content, not AI.
What used to take hours, can now be done in minutes...and retain the same quality, but those trying to use AI to auto-generate their WA to a business, is not the way.
Assisted, not created. Big difference between the two.
Very well said, Kyle! Thank you so much!
Good morning Kyle,
Thank you for your reply, I do appreciate it.
I'm pleased to hear that you will be taking a hard stance against AI content, Kyle, I mean that in a positive way! I agree there is a huge difference between AI-assisted and AI-created.
I'm sure you are aware that this post is from around four months ago, and since then, I have been able to go through more of the AI training on Wealthy Affiliate. This has helped to give me a much better understanding of how AI works. Although, I still believe it needs to be handled with care!
I used to read a lot more of the top 10 blog posts on the platform, but as soon as I realise it's AI, I just stop reading as I want to hear genuine stories!
I think one of the many things that has made the Wealthy Affiliate platform so good, is by members sharing their genuine and honest experience. This doesn't mean it has to be a success story, it may be a story where a member is really struggling. However, other members can then respond by encouraging and helping and so forth. It's all about helping others and making things happen! As we know, sadly, these AI stories are just fluff!
I'm amazed at the number of people who respond to the AI blog posts! Either they are being very kind and nice or just blind to AI! I won't respond to AI posts as there is nothing genuine to respond to! I have, on the odd occasion, given an AI response, but that's just really a waste of my time, and the last thing I want to do is to lower the tone of the platform.
I always think it's important to remember that we are on a platform that teaches you in a great way on how to build a successful online business! It's important to keep the blog posts on topic and with our own very genuine experience of Internet marketing related topics etc. We need to remember that we are not on Facebook; we are on a serious platform that teaches members how to be successful online!
Through going through your training videos Kyle, I have learned so much about AI! I know that you are genuinely trying to help members become successful quickly. I hope they use AI properly and don't abuse it, as it may backfire later on!
Just a couple of days ago I was talking to my Webmaster in the US and he put something into Chat GPT; the response was brilliant! This was for brainstorming rather than a blog post for content. However, the principles could very easily be put into a very good blog post.
I don't know if you've noticed, but I have been having an interesting conversation with Jeannine below.
All the best and my apologies for the slight rant, I hope it's a positive rant, if there is such a thing!
Have a great day.
Roy
