Authoring & Writing Content

So far in my journey on WA, there's been a lot of how to stuff on setting up a website with a domain that points to your desired interest/skill set. I assume just about everybody

Shawn, thanks for the comment.

In noodling around, I found two other resources that are critical to success. The most recent comment on the last one was 4 years ago. The two additional tutorials are Understanding Relevance and Using the Common Keyword Technique. Seems like important information if you are interested in earning an income from your efforts. I wonder why these several resources aren't more prominent.

It is actually part of the training. It is within the bootcamp side of things through the content with intent video and then within the OEC course under the "how to architect your content" it is discussed. The idea of writing with "intent" is definitely covered within both trainings.

I think that video was actually a blog post that was not included in any of the training. I agree, it is a must watch!

Why isn't kyle's video on writing with intent mandatory?

I have the Thrive themes bundle including plugins. Can I use them with the website builder?

After spending some time with the Rubix support team, I found a way to use Thrive themes, content builder, and plugins on the server. It requires the use of an ftp program like Filezilla but it can be done. If anyone needs any help with this, let me know.

Exactly, what do you need?

Yes.

I had a similar request about a month ago. Here's my step by step instructions on how I inserted Thrive themes into WA's system: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/roncooper/inbox/778615/comment/778615 . Let me know if you have any additional questions.

The only problem I have found is that WA does not allow outside communication with these plugins. The site administrators will help to get the plugins and themes activated with your license. You just need to send them your license numbers and they will activate the themes and plugins for you.

Equally important, when there is a plugin update you will have to go through Filezilla to stay up do date. Seems as if the theme updates work within WA's system.

Hi, I click on the link but couldn't find the step by step instructions of inserting the thrive themes. Pls advise. Thanks ya :)

Here is the first of two messages.

RonCooper 3 months ago I had some lengthy discussions with Website support.

Here are several of the private messages that outline how to load the themes and plugins.

Themes:

WA blocks all outgoing connections by default.
We do not allow plugin/theme that requires time to time connections to remote servers.
If the above mentioned things doesn't require time to time outgoing connections to remote servers then this all is allowed.

You have to upload these with the FTP as their size is larger than 8 MB.
Follow the below steps to upload them through FTP.

Step 1 is to unzip the theme on your computer which will uncompress all of the files. They will most likely be in a folder whose name is same as the name of the theme.

Step 2 is to upload that theme's folder via FTP to your website's wp-content/themes/ directory. Once it's there you will be able to choose the theme from your themes admin page when logged in.

Here is some training on using FTP.
FTP & FileZilla - Connecting to domain via FTP

I will send you the response concerning plugins in a second message.

Good luck

Here's the second message.

Here's the rest of the story. The tale is in reverse order so read from the bottom to the top. Getting the plugins to work is a little more difficult than the themes because when Filezilla transfers them, it creates a subdirectory file for each plugin. Your website will not recognize them unless you move them to the directory level. It would be a lot easier if we could access our domain through a cpanel. Nevertheless, it can be done with Filezilla.

Here are my messages from website support: Read them from the last to the first.

I figured out how to move the files up one notch. Had to rename the files and then move them and them rename them again. Thanks for all of your help.

I moved the plugins to the website via ftp. Seems as if they put an extra layer in the directory. Is there anyway to access the cpanel so I can move the files up one directory? Or if you know how to copy and move using filezilla I can do it that way. I would have to copy files inside the plugin directory and then move them up one notch. Please advise. Thanks for all of your help. As it stands they are not recognized by my plugin directory when I login.

Place the plugins in the httpdocs/wp-content/plugins folder.

Once again,

Best of luck.

Thanks Ron, thanks for the sharing. I will try it out. Have a nice day ya :)

Hi Ron, I have purchased content builder and have big troubles, I cannot drag anything from Thrive Tab over to my editors area. It worked once and someone from support fixed it for me, but now no one seems to be able to help?

Seems to be a question for the Thrive Themes blog. They have a pretty robust question and answer format. Lots of help over there. Give it a try.

Hi Ron, what password do I give admin at Thrive if I have technical issues with my content builder plug in? They cannot get access to my site when I give them my WA username and password? can someone help?

Once you login to your profile, you will notice Site Rubix on the left side of the page. When you click on Site Rubix, you will notice you are on the url https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites.

Then you will notice login+. When you click on login+, it will display your username and password. Thrivethemes support should be able to view your website once they login. If it doesn't, leave a message with rubix support.

Good luck.

I love my Thrive theme bundle. Can you please send me an instruction how to do it? Thanks very much, Beata

Thanks very much!

i think so.. do check up on the review

Only if they are part of WordPress themes

Tommy,

Thanks for the feedback.
