How do I make my landing page display the menu and widgets I created. Once I changed my first page from Default to landing all of the menu disapeared. Any advice will be very he

When you say Menu and Widgets, are you referring to the listing of your posts (blog roll)? Meaning like what I have on my website Home page here? - http://legitimatejobfromhome.com

If that is what you mean, then you have to switch back to the default setting. The WordPress default setting shows your blog roll which are all of the posts you create.

Well yes I figured that one way to do this would be use the default settings. Number 1 I watched both Name a Niche I'll Build the Site parts one and parts two. I thought they were outstanding training BUT Jay 1) contradicts the classroom training and makes the Home Page a landing page the classroom training does it the other way around. I've no problem with this and actually like the idea of the landing page being a page not a blog roll. 2) Part Two doesn't finish anything. I've bookmarked the website Jay created and http://rcquadcoptercamera.com/ is nothing but a black bordered video of a quadopter and a defiinition and link to a WIki. SO WHAT! That is not finishing what you started. in my opinion since he was already ranking page 1 at the time why he did not actually finish what he started. That is make the menu, make content, and most important monetize the website. I do believe all of this should have appeared in a Part 3. I joined this site to learn affiliate marketing and make money. I am an educator. The first thing at our new quarterly faculty meeting that was spoken of by the Dean was BE CONSISTENT. . I've no issues with these courses they are the best I have ever seen on this topic and priced fairly. I do however take grave offense at the lack of consistency. It only causes mass confusion. I would like to see Jay complete http://rcquadcoptercamera.com/ for us. I think it's only fair for what I am paying. I spent a lot of my time watching and using the techniques described in Build a Site I and II. I intent to write him everyday until this is resolved. Thanks for your reply your site looks great;

Thank you Dan for your comment on my website and I can totally understand your frustration. Personally I do not watch Jay's video classrooms that often. I mainly follow what Kyle teaches and what are in the classrooms.

Everyone, including myself, are going to have varying opinions about how to do things. I believe since the main course in affiliate marketing is written by Kyle and Carson, that it is their guidance that I will follow. I will only use advice from Jay that does not contradict the training and that fills in the gaps, so to speak.

I know Jay advocates having a static Home (Landing) page and Kyle & Carson do not. Of my 3 websites, my first 2 had what Jay advocates and my 3rd, as you have seen, has the blog roll. I get better rankings on my Home page with the blog roll than I do on a static page. I found out from external sources that having a blog roll as the Home page gives a slight advantage in rankings because it is always fresh content, meaning every time you add a new post, the page is updated.

That is my personal take on the Kyle & Carson vs Jay contradiction training. The choice of how you proceed is up to you. But personally, I would rather stick with the Kyle & Carson way because they are the ones who have proven it before Jay made his way.

Thanks for the new tips. I appreciate the comments. I'll have to see about changing the way things are done at this point.

After watching Jay's Video You Tell me the Niche, I Build the Site

Hello Dan, good question, but you don't show the link to the site and whether it is under siterubix or your own.

I have two sites I started with the traditional training and after watching Jay's video it would help if someone could let me know how to erase the website and start over again. I think that Jay's tutorial is great but there elements in the traditional training such as the Genesis Framework that is not covered. They are now on the WA servers. I just want to start over with them. I'm glad I only got two up so far. I think one is going to need more WordPress work but this one http://suboxone-opiate-detox.com/ needs to be re-done. I did install the framework but the front page is a Blog Roll not static. I had made multiple pages as well. I guess it was good for practice but not the 100% correct way to do this. Thanks for the response.

I don,t think you have to start from scratch. I think is a matter of going over the tutorials about the Settings from the Dashboard to chage pages from static to dynamic or viceversa. I do not know enough about it but you made a goo. Just some tweaks to add.d start

You may be correct. One thing that is a pain in the butt is changing your front page. It's not actually listed as a page but a blog unless you delete the sample page and make one page the static landing page and the others Blog pages. I did it on Siterubrix and man it was a real nightmare but got it done. Guess I'll just buckle down and make it happen. I did find a plugin on the web that erases everything here

Not sure I'm ready to go that far yet!

Thanks for the reply and the link. Good luck.
