Yes - just any website it will be indexed into Google. However sub-domains tend to struggle when it comes to getting high rankings within the search engines.
This is why having your own domain is a good idea. Also owning your own domain is like have a piece of real estate but it's online.
It also is better for brand building and it also provides more trust with visitors.
