Long and Windy Road!

It seems like it's been a long journey so far, but I have just completed Level 3 of the OEC.

So far I have determined a niche; Have a website; have 9 articles completed; and have been indexed in Google!!

I have no traffic yet, but hopefully that will happen before long. All of this online stuff is new to me so learning a whole new set of skills has been a challenge, to say the least!!

I mean hell, it was only about 6 years ago that I learned how to use my Android cell phone. Technology is not one of my strong points, and is something that was never a part of my life and the lifestyle that I have always been accustomed to.

I have no degrees hanging on my wall. No letters like "PHD" on the end of my name.

No business degrees.

No formal business training.

Never went to college.

In fact, my educational background is quite limited. So at this stage of my life learning new skills is a VERY challenging and I have lost count of the number of times that my brain has suffered major cramps!!

So completing Level 3, for me, has been a major accomplishment.

Moving Forward!!

Now looking forward into Level 4 I see that the focus is going to be on Social Media and how to leverage it in my business. Which I am a bit apprehensive about on account of I have never really been very active in social media and engaging with others in just about anything.

I am an introvert so I tend to be low key and don't say much about a lot of topics.

I am more of a listener and an observer. So this next section of training is going to be even more of a challenge as far as engaging with others.

That is something that I am not real comfortable with, so stepping out of my comfort zone, once again, is something that is going to be yet another challenge in my online journey.

So in moving forward I am sure that I will be asking many questions about the different aspects of being a part of a social environment. And after reading and listening to the first lesson in Level 4 I need to ask a couple of questions right out of the gate.

Questions #1; Is having a Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram accounts based on having a PERSONAL account, or should I have a business account? I have an account with all of these even though I rarely use them, but should I have a business account, or does it matter?

Question # 2; What is the best social plugin for Wordpress that can be used for posting and sharing content with in the different Social platforms?

The WA platform has been EXTREMELY beneficial, as well as all of its members, in achieving the results that I have had thus far, and I am confident that being a part of this community is going to continue to be a tremendous asset to the success that lies ahead.

You all are awesome!! And your help and guidance is ALWAYS appreciated.

Good Morning Rick,

I got my first computer by the end of 2013. I only did emails and photos. Then I discovered there were interesting Webinars and Summits online. Slowly but surely I advanced and then I started with 2 websites at the beginning of 2017.
I can tell you I had no idea what I was starting but here I am.

I would suggest you take a business account for Pinterest. It looks way nicer than a normal one. You get statistics so that is also a help.
I was told that on FB if you only want to share your business then you should take a business account. I have a normal account and post a cocktail of things so it seems I am ok with that.

Think carefully before adding a social media plugin.

I started with one for Pinterest. One year later I wanted one including FB. Luckily I first asked a question. I was told if I eliminate the old Pinterest I might lose the result gained over time so that would mean starting from 0.
There is one plugin where you can add on whenever you want.
Anyhow have a look at the list, see screen shot.
Stay safe and healthy,

Taetske

Rick

Rick, thanks for sharing your progress. Well done and the traffic should be building up. Check if you submit your keywords into Google console. Sharing your posts helps too.

Thanks Stanley!! I haven't checked Google console for my keywords. Not even sure how to do that. Could you shed some light on how I do that?

Rick

Awesome!! Thanks Stanley....I will give that a try:)

Wow, Rick--some major accomplishments, my friend! I'm of the opinion that business is better than personal , but I'll hang around to see what answers you get!

Great job! Stay safe!

Jeff

Hey Jeff!! Thanks for the kind words and the advice. It is greatly appreciated amigo:)

Rick

Congrats on your progress you are moving along nicely. Well done!

I also, have personal and business page for Facebook and I use Pinterest. I do believe Jay suggests a business account with Pinterest. I'm not presently using Twitter or Instagram. I use the Ultimate social. I haven't had any issues with it.

All the best to you,
Mickey

Thanks for the info Mickey:) that is good to know about having a business account and the "ultimate social" plugin.
