I'm Rick, coming to you all from Raleigh, North Carolina, freshly returned from a several year sojourn in the United Kingdom. I'm an Adobe Creative Cloud-based graphic designer and writer/editor specializing in visual and print communications, including, but not limited to, magazine and advertising design; label and package design; digital illustration; web site design, and a modest amount of blog publishing... once upon a time, as far as the latter two are concerned.
My career has encompassed public affairs; news and feature writing and editing; newspaper, plus four-color magazine and advertising design and production. I've also created my share web sites and blogs using Wordpress and Dreamweaver, and am a veteran user of Adobe Creative Cloud applications – particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
In 2011, I took a 72-hour permaculture design course (PDC) in Norfolk, England, receiving certification from the Permaculture Association of Great Britain in September of that year. But that's a whole 'nother area of interest nowadays, one that's more or less on the back burner for the time being.
I also have a keen interest in early 20th century aircraft — particularly those of the First World War. I am a painter in oils and pastel as well, and in recent times have been trying my hand at aviation painting, focused on that time period.
One thing I haven't done, however is develop a business — or businesses! — of my own online. I mean, real honest-to-gosh successful, income-producing ones that I will enjoy working on for years to come, and ultimately reap the benefits of much industrious sowing. So that's the reason I've decided to join the Wealthy Affiliate community.
Now, one would think that with all my print, web, newspaper, magazine and advertising experience, I'd be a natural for a blog publishing and internet marketing business. Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.
So here I am, doing what best like doing: being a student, taking what I learn here — and everywhwere else, for that matter — and applying it. My goal: to develop a thrillingly prosperous Web business, dedicated to educating, inspiring and providing extraordinary value for my readers and customers. I aim finally to be a successful Web site and blog publisher and internet marketer.
In the fullness of time, I aim to have gained a wealth of know-how in Web publishing and internet marketing and, ultimately, to be realizing extraordinary profits, not only from several sites I'll have created created around my passions, but by making my services and know-how available to others and teaching them to succeed in the same way.
By all means, check out my site if you're so inclined (or any of the other pages listed over on the right side of this page), and add me to your circle on Google+. Let's get in touch, whaddaya say?
Best wishes to all who pass this way, for a happy and ever-so-prosperous 2014!
