For example, thisismysite.com or this-is-my-site.com.
And it is really bad when the .com and .net of the domain are taken. Both link to the same page on Amazon.
In my opinion I'd say that a domain without hyphens is better because it's easier to remember, especially as people are more used to websites without hyphens. If possible, I'd encourage you to try and think of a name without hyphens.
Thank you. The naming convention of domains gets to be hard at times. Especially when you have a name and believe it to be good and then you find out it is either gone or up for sell.
Yea I know exactly what you mean. It can be so difficult coming up with a name when your choices are already taken...especially when you thought of something so perfect that no other name seems to come close.
Hi. Yes, it is better to leave the hyphens out. They tend to confuse people and most do not remember to include them. You don't want your traffic going to another website, so I'd say leave them out if at all possible. :)
I figured as much. Just trying to get a domain that will fit within my keywords. Appreciate the quick response.

Is it better to have a domain that does not add hyphens?

It's worth remembering that you don't need a domain that fits your keywords. Nowadays having your keyword in your domain name isn't really that significant. In contrast, having a domain name that is catchy or engaging often works much better. That's why you see a lot of sites that have brandable domain names, even though those names don't have much to do with the site topic at first glance.
I shall continue my search for a name that will benefit not only the site but my niche as well. I want it to be memorable.
