How to Think Your Way to Success
I came across an article online by chance explaining how the way you think can affect whether you become successful. Reading it, I saw the kinds of thinking I was doing right, but I also saw a lot of improvements I need to make. I only intended to read a few sentences, because I was eager to get back to work on my website. But I just couldn't stop reading it. I thought I'd share it with you all.
The title of the article is "13 Ways Successful People Think Differently," by Jenna Goudreau. She explains each of the following ways in her article at how-successful-people-think-differently/? Some of these ways seem only common sense, but others, you (like me) might not have thought of before.
1. They understand that thinking is a discipline.
2. They figure out where to focus their energy.
3. They expose themselves to different ideas and types of people.
4. They don't just have an idea; they follow through with it.
5. They understand that thoughts need time to develop.
6. They collaborate with other smart people.
7. They reject popular thinking (which often means not thinking at all).
8. They plan ahead, while leaving room for spontaneity.
9. They don't just think differently; they do different things.
10. They value other people's ideas as much as their own.
11. They have an agenda.
12. They don't just react; they reflect.
13. They don't indulge in negative self-talk.

Great post. If you can control your thoughts, you can control your life! Or, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."
I agree, Big Daddy. If you think too negatively, that's what you'll get out of life.
Still looking for that package, BTW. I'll let you know when it arrives.--Rich
It's on its way..... Actually it's still being processed. I am pretty sure each order is made from scratch as it comes in. Fresh only!
Great comments, richie! On the way out while doing errands a well-known sports talk show host was engaging his audience in a lecture about what separates the elite athletes - Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, Lebron James, etc. from just the "ordinary" athletes. This talk show host stated that the really elite and highly successful athletes treat what they do as a job. They have incredible preparation (film study, workouts, practice) education and dedication to their craft 24/7. They are never satisfied with just reaching a certain level and goal, the elite athlete is always pushing himself, (or herself if you think of female athletes such as Alex Morgan in soccer and Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore -sorry I'm a UConn alumnus - in basketball) to constantly improve their skill sets with regards to their sport. The athletes who cannot achieve this level of greatness simply don't have the same mindsets by comparison.
One can use this principle towards owning a business such as what is available through WA. You have to treat your business as a "job" and just not simply a sideline part-time affair. You must think of constantly dedicating yourself through preparation, crafting your skill, (article writing) and pursue further education in order to succeed. Always try to surpass any goals you have laid out before you!
Great posting, sir!
Jeff
That is very good motivational advice, Jeff! I don't believe the writer of this article ever mentioned athletes, but you're right: athletes can easily become more successful at their jobs than those who only see themselves as playing a sport. And with the same positive mindset as mentioned in the article, these types of athletes often reach the level of success as do many businessmen and women.
Thank you for the following, BTW. Following you back.--Rich
