I need a little help but i all so just want to make sure that my mind is thinking correctly
Question 1 my website and about me is a post ? and Privacy policy is a page ?
Hi Richard. The diffferences: Posts are the ones we do as an article, blog. they are the ones we should create several times a week if possible. Posts are organized using tags and categories. They are social engagement. Pages are not social, they are one time creation and are part of website for what is about your niche, or you maybe doing on your blog, about you and Privacy Policy. Pages are timeless. Use Generate Pess or Astra as theme, they are free. Cheers. Florentino
Thank you so much for your information it really helps i will jave a look at the themes i guess im on a learning curve here , thank you again for your help ,much appreciated
Cheers
Richard
Richard,
Both About me and Privacy Policy are Pages.
I am not seeing posts yet under my profile even though I have already wrote some site content as posts. I would take the advises of both Dale and Louise that they are blog posts.
Being new to computer world, I will still have to take lessons about blogging. Maybe I can help then as I see you are still asking on OEC Lesson 5.
yes i was at a stop point because my about me came first on my website and silly me i publish it which i should of waited . my about me content came first then my main content so i messed up somewhere , when i tried using the menu bar it still did not move my about me to 2nd page i think i will have to redo the training till i get it right .
maybe i delete and restart same website
Yes correct. About can be both however a post is more appropriate. Privacy policy is always a page.
You can use the free version of GeneratePress.
Posts appear in your feeds, pages don't - meaning if you want to publish content that you'd like your readers to be updated about (such as blog content), you'd use a post... For other content (such as privacy policies) you'd use a page.
GeneratePress is the best simple theme IMO.

Website content is it a page or post ?

Hi Richard;
The difference between a page and a post;
Posts are for timely content. They can have a publish date, author, and can be displayed on your blog page. We often hear the term "blog post."- relative content posted to your blog roll.
Pages refer to static content, once it is created it is timeless so doesn't need to be changed, part of the architecture of your website if you like. Having said that pages can be updated to reflect a change that may occur, eg new affiliate programs, etc.
About me and Privacy tend to be static content so therefore a page will be dedicated to them.
Generate press is a good theme to use.
Thank you Alex its much appreciated as i went wrong with my about me , my about me i put as post and struggled with my website . Looks like i will jave to delete and start all over again on my about me and privacy policy my content is looking good nust need to get looking nice
Thank you alex

I have a question i need to ask there are some people who have nice Blogs and from Time to time i like to go and see them ? what is the easiest and quickest way to see a person
Use the Gray search bar and type in userid above and click on them to go to their profile page, and from there you can find their posts!
Jeff
You can also click on your ranking and it gives you a list of the top 200 people and then click on there picture and it takes you to there profile and there list of blogs are there hope that helps
Blogs if shared by WA fellow members are usually found within their profiles under their pictures.
For example if Keisha wants to share her blog, she would includes it on her profile where it says, follow me on...
Another example would be your profile, you have not shared any links and therefore, people can't access any.
Do let me know if you need anything else. Have a nice day.
thank you i do understand its just i find it not so easy to find them usually i would go into my profile where they comment and access their profile that way , sometimes i dont see their blog posts and i honestly enjoy reading their blogs or sometimes need to find them using my network as sometimes they not posting their blogs everyday , anyway thanks again for your help its much appreciated.
kind regards
Richard
