Doing is Learning
Hey gang, so in this post I am going to show you my stats on street articles and let you in on some of the things that I have learned.
The article that has the arrow actually ranks in google on the 1st page in the 10 position (or it did yesterday when I checked). Now that is great news, however that keyword doesn't get a lot of traffic. So the first thing that I learned is to make sure that you are writing an article on something that gets a bunch of traffic.
Also I notice that most of the posts on the front page are more than 400 words, so the last article (the one that is not approved, is longer). This is an experiment and I will let you know if the results are favorable.
Also with this commitment that I have made to do 30 articles in 30 days, It doesn't leave much time for me to post to my site. So I am slightly neglecting my site, but I think that it will all balance out.
I have also learned that I need to work more on my spelling lol.
I have also learned that by writing from an outline, it more than twice as fast to be able to publish, and is way less frustrating.
I also learned how to put screen shots into my posts (My 13 year old showed me lol).
What things do you do to make your writing easier?

For spelling try the free version of Ginger, just go to http://www.gingersoftware.com/ and check out the GRAMMAR link.
Please tell your son I need help with the screenshots also :-)
Hi John - I've not been here 3 months yet, but I suspect you can "create content" which would include screenshots, after the first 3 months.
Until then, you can always try Droplr.com - Welshy has a tutorial here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/droplr-capture-share-images-text-links-videos-more
It lets you upload images, and gives you a short link for each one - that you can simply paste into your post. It won't appear as an image - but will show an image when clicked.
All the best, Mark
Marks way might also work, but have never tried that. My daughter showed me to just hit the print screen button, then go to paint and paste from clipboard, it opens it up in paint and you can doodle on it. pretty straight forward, but the quality might be better with the other stuff.
Hi Rich - I know you're doing the 30 in 30 challenge but my advice is to tweak it a bit. There is no advantage to you posting 30 articles to SA and not being able to build content on your site. You would be better to still continue to write the articles but just post a couple to SA and then post the rest to your site.
Glad you've found that writing to an outline is quicker - it certainly is.
One of the things that I use to keep up my speed is a timer and I set it for the average time it takes me to write an article and I set it to that. It forces you to stay focused and on track.
When I first started writing it literally took me hours (about 14 actually) to complete one article but now - because I am very experienced I can write a simple article of about 400 words in 15 minutes. Not suggesting you want to do it that quickly if you've only just started but using a timer and allowing yourself 5 minutes less every few days you will find you can increase your speed and cut down the amount of time it takes you to complete. In the long term that will allow you more time to work on other things whilst still producing good content.

Beverley I know that you are right, that I should be posting more to my site, so I am going to work on that and I am going to start using the timer. Thanks for the advise.
