My First Three Months With Wealthy Affiliate

Sometimes it seems just when I feel like I am getting a break in understanding something that has eluded me for some time, maybe even years, then I finally get it! I started thinking, I should have stuck with this when I first found about this business. I could be so much further along if I had known sooner it was the right thing for me. I would have stuck with it had I known I could do this; what was I thinking before? I was furiously going through my emails and looking for my past attempts at learning Affiliate Marketing.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda and ain't never done a damn thing...back then (circa 2010). Back then I developed an interest. I was in full swing as an application developer and trainer working with 4GL software, SQL, and db2 databases as I was traveling all over the United States when working on various projects and vacationing in tropical climes. Talk about a shiny moving object, that was my work life and I am not ashamed to admit, I loved it.

I have to admit I wasn't as focused as I am now. I attempted to gain knowledge and insight as to how to succeed as an affiliate marketer. Unfortunately, the earlier learning platforms, trainers, methods of teaching, and how I learned did not work for me. I felt confused, unsupported, and twisting in the wind. There was no knowledge base or community to tap back into for help and answers. I need to see, feel, and touch for me to learn and retain lessons.

There were not as many interactive exercises and videos that I required and wanted. What I had come to realize, that not all successful people know how to share their knowledge, experiences and organize the steps necessary for others to reach their own individual level of success. They knew only one way to train and or explain it and if you didn't get it, you were left in the dust; blinking and trying to get the sand out of your eyes. Sort of like my physics class.

There was no feedback or check-ins or how are you doing or touch base to see how you are getting along and understanding the training. The communities were large and with no mentors or facilitators, or promoters to guide and look out for the new members or to ask the seasoned members to offer their services, give recommendations, reviews, or suggest tools that have helped them in their business, on their way to success. It was all kind of dark and hazy.

Years later I continued my search for learning how to become an affiliate marketer (circa 2014). Then I discovered Wealthy Affiliate (late 2020). After the one-week initial training, I signed on for the premium membership and could not resist the lure of extra training and the thrill of learning to create a website and hosting, so when offered Premium+ it was the only decision that was right for me.

So after three months with WA, I am writing my first WA Blog post. I am sure the next three months will be equally as exciting and thrilling to me. I am a lifelong learner and the idea of building a business correctly so it is updatable and scalable is the right fit for me and my future.

Over the next three months, I am going to expand and experiment on my current WA website and blog. I plan on building my second website which I would like to be my anchor website, blog, and template for future projects. I am looking forward to promoting Wealthy Affiliate memberships and other products for better and healthier more adventurous living.

What matters is, you are now back and probably wiser. You know what to do. Best wishes this time round.

Rhonda, what you did way back then has made you what you are now and your work/travelling experience will have given you so much more to bring to your website.
There might be a rear view mirror in life but there is no reverse gear, keep moving forwards and good luck.
