The problem with choice
Hello everyone!
Hopefully you guys are well and are having an awesome day.
Today, I just realized something. Have you ever saw the movie "The Matrix"? If you have, you might remember one of Keanu Reeve's (aka. "Neo") line where he said, "The problem is choice". This line has been sticking in my mind as I go through the training here at WA. Don't get me wrong, the WA training, courses and content here are amazing! And I wouldn't have moved along so quickly without it. But back to my point.
There are so many choices in every facet of creating an online business at every turn that sometimes I feel like a "deer watching a headlight from an oncoming traffic!" if you know what I mean. Choices that freezes me on track include (but not limited to) Keyword selections for creating content, creating your own content vs. hiring a ghost writer, focusing on you training vs focusing on your business (website), strategy implementation vs. site comments & review, and I could go on and on.
I've read some of the other Wealthy Affiliates profiles here and I feel their pain when they say I've been here for a while now and have nothing to show for. I emphatize with them and try to share some of the insights I've learn along the way but I'm also struggling with these choices everyday.
I think part of the reason why I am struggling is because there are too many thoughts and goals that I want to do and accomplishat the same time and I need to create some goals and focus through out the day (or even through out the week even!).
I have to remember that even if I get atleast "ONE" important task out of the way and checked off in my to-do list, I have to be willing to be satisfied with it. Because it was one goal that I accomplished more than yesterday, right?

We are either procedures driven or options driven my nature. The thing at WA, ( I say this with an options preference) is to focus on procedure, so habits, building focus on high quality tasks and leave the options side of me to the creative writing.
When I look back the things I did not succeed at, they are the ones where I kept doing other stuff but that it a myth of productivity. I think it is where the shiny new toy syndrome comes from.
In this buisness 80 per cent of success comes from content for a great niche and habits in making that happen.
Being genius take seconds, making it happen is habits and effort day in and out. Thanks for a thoughtful piece. All the best, Phil
Hi Phil,
I think you hit the nail write on the head when you stated, "Being genius take seconds, making it happen is habits and effort day in and day out". In any environment whether its sports or business, hard work will always beat talent. Thanks for reminding me this!
Many who are not too successful are trying to do too much Rey. Too many goals means you have too much to do.
Derek
I agree and I think that is what's happening to me right now. I read CassiofTroy's tutorial on Focus 101 and it really helped me focus on my goals and the task at hand. Thanks for your insight!
