My site got indexed by Google today.
YIPPEE...I think.
I'm not really sure how to react.
It's been one month into my journey here at WA, which I'm thoroughly enjoying, and today I recieved an email saying that my site MyBestDadGifts has just been indexed.
I think this should be a good thing because I also earned a WA badge for it. Also by having the site indexed, I guess it means that I'm leaving breadcrumbs on the internet so that will help others find the site.
But I'm still getting my head around why it's indexed because my site is still really new and in it's infancy. It's just weird that the site has been indexed when theres really only the 'about me' page, which I still have to edit. I guess this shows that all the backround box checking with plugins, etc is working. I suppose that's an encouraging thing.
I'm still unsure if I'll stick with this Niche but it's one of the few areas that I feel I will enjoy writing about in a sincere but lighthearted way. There aren't too many other Niche areas I feel comfortable in writing about with engaging content that also adds value to others. I mean what else could I write about confidently...
The top 10 ways on how to keep your forehead shiny!
The top 10 ways on how to lovingly annoy your kids!
The top 10 ways on how to cause distraction so you can discetely pick your nose!
I'm still progressing through training (currently Level 2) so I'm just beginning. I guess it's positive to know that things are still coming together slowly, despite my uncertainty. I'll keep moving forward and learning through the trainings and listening to the more experienced members within WA.
Thanks for reading I'll try and post any other relevant milestones or other helpful stuff.
Have a truly Fantastical Day!
Joe

Congrats on the indexing. I liked some of your other niche ideas. They sound like fun.

Really great Joe, being index is a good start. As you build content your site will go up in ranking and attract more finds on google. Keep up the good work.
i have a question for you guys though it has nothing to do with the post. i have just joined WA but still don't have a clear idea about my niche. do i have to think about first before completing my membership here or i would find it while am here. thanks
It’s really up to you I’m not 100% sure on my direction either but I’ve learned a heck of a lot just using WA and I have some background knowledge with web development.
Hey there Lorraine, there are heaps of options with niches out there. Just start going through the WA trainings (green button on the left) and Kyle will explain niches to you.
You'll also connect with more experienced WA members (haha opposite of me) who will also have helpful training posts.
There's a link on my profile page by Boomergp08 to a very helpful training on 'Tips for choosing a Niche' (he is a very helpful experienced WA member). Just scroll down to his comment 3 days ago.
Sorry but I haven't learnt yet about how to add a link onto a comment yet.
Enjoy your WA journey Lorraine.

The SEO plugins we use actually submi our sites to search engines such as google. For new sites normally it’s ideal to actually make it so it doesn’t index while you get everything in place.
Oh I didn't know that. I've just been following and applying what I'm learning through the WA trainings. Cheers anyway man. I'll know for next time.
It’s all good I just remember in the training he said something about making it so it doesn’t index until you’re ready :). It is a good thing that you got indexed though because that means the plugin is working.
Oops I think I need to pay more attention during the trainings. (Oh my gosh that sounds like my school reports...'Joe has potential, but is easily distracted and needs to pay more attention in class'). But yep still a positive thing that it got indexed and plugin working.
