:) Hey there my name is Joe.
I consider myself simple man, an average bloke. Yep, just a 'Regular Joe'.
Quick funny story about my profile pic:
We were taking a 'family-selfie' pic and upon review my youngest daughter made a cheeky comment, which cracked-up her mum and sister. Of course the comment was at my expense and was captured by another pic. Her comment...
"Wow Dad, your forehead looks brighter than my future!"

I'm a 44yr old Kiwi born, Pacific Islander, living in Oz. Each day I count my blessings to be surrounded by the three most beautiful, wonderful, amazing (and often cheeky) ladies in my life...my wife Barb, and our daughters Akaicia & Charley.

I'm grateful for each morning that I wake to the gift of another beautiful day.
My goal everyday is simple:
"Try to be the best ME that I can be...nobody else."
I don't always achieve the goals I set, but I try.
I also have a happy, positive, sincere and cheeky energy that helps.

This also includes me each day:
- Providing for my family by earning an income and putting food on the table.
- Seeing my wife smile and hearing her laugh.
- Encouraging my daughters on each of their life journeys and leading by example.
- Creating a positive difference in some way or form in the lives of others...even if it's just a smile.

Thank you Joe for the follow and many blessings to you here at WA. When first starting your affiliate marketing website many members have problems coming up with niche ideas.

Probably the one main problem is that people tend to over-think the simple process of finding a niche. Just sit back and look around you. You have niches everywhere. You are even wearing different niches.

Though it is important to fully understand that any niche can be profitable, there are certain niche markets that will be more profitable than others. You might think that the market is saturated but there is plenty of room to earn.

The niches in these 2 types of profitable categories (Evergreen and Passions) are plentiful and broad. Like all niches they will need to be narrow and focused. The more they are, the more profitable they become.

I created a tutorial that explains the differences in these two groups and provide you with many niche and sub niche ideas for each category. If you are having problems choosing a niche, click the link below.

Congratulations on going Premium.

I have found the weekly webinar very useful to watch and now that you’re a premium member you can too.

One tip though… be sure the topic being covered is what you need right now otherwise it won’t be the best use of your time.

If you can’t or don’t want to attend live, there’s always the recordings. (See “Live Video Classes” under Training on the left hand menu.

Wishing you every success with your business goals for 2018.

Sorry for the silly question but what's a VA?

Oops sorry sometimes I forget not everybody is familiar with these abbreviations.

A VA is a Virtual Assistant, someone you take on to assist with things like social media and email campaigns. They work remotely and you pay them by the hour. :)

That's all good. I'm sure I'll become more and more on to it with other different terms and stuff as I progress along on my WA journey.

Wow I didn't know such a position existed. But it makes a lot of sense to help manage and free up your time. Otherwise your success might actually jeopardize your success. Becoming soo busy with increased volume that you lack time freedom to get it all done.
Anyways, I'm sure that my daughters would love to donate some of their time and social media expertise to their good old Dad...hmm, maybe.

Hey there Kyle. YAY upgraded to Premium. Thanks heaps for all the great training and wonderful community.

I was hoping to get some feedback regarding niche/brand please.

I'm considering trying to establish 'myself' as a brand. I'm not a physical specimen, an academic or incredibly intelligent. I wouldn't even say I'm a techie or a Mr.Fixit. I'm just an average bloke, a regular-Joe. So I guess I have to play on my strengths.
I really think I'm someone that people will be able to relate to. I'm usually a positive, encouraging, polite, funny (well I think so), supportive, sometimes insightful kind of guy. I'm good at trying, learning (sometimes), bouncing back and getting back up, then trying again. Even though I'm not verbally gifted, I have a unique writing style demonstrated with my random social media posts, which usually generate positive and sometimes funny engagement with my friends.

I really think I can add value to others by being an example of someone similar to them. Someone who is trying as best as they can in everyday situations. So I'm thinking of creating a website targeted at regular everyday dads who want to try to create an uplifting, encouraging environment for his family, friends and community as best as he knows how. Sort of like a low-budget superman. Typical dads may fall short of the amazing feats performed by the actual superman, but in the eyes of our own family, we're 'The Man'.

I'm hoping that through relevant, regular and humour related posts, I'll slowly create an audience and engagement. This will include everyday topics like health & wellbeing, relationships, fashion (haha 'Plaid Shirts'), financial well-being, and personal development through reviews of books that I've enjoyed reading. This will then hopefully lead to promoting such books and other helpful products through eBay or Amazon resulting in affiliate commissions.

Maybe a website name like 'Glad Dad' or 'Team Glad Dad' or 'Glad Dad Journey'.

Sorry that's a bit deep, but your thoughts and guidance would be much appreciated. I'm open to any feedback.
Cheers heaps for your time - Joe

You can focus on YOU being the brand, that is completely fine. But you still want to target a specific audience if you are going to head in this direction. Health and wellbeing is far too broad, so that is not specific enough to be a niche. That could be mean too many things to too many people.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hey Joe! Just wanted to follow up and see how you're doing so far. Hope you've been enjoying the training offered here and the community as well.

You must be wondering if you can really make money after going through the courses here in WA. Truthfully, it can be done because I have experimented it and I know it works.

Just wanted to let you know that if you have upgraded to the premium membership, it covers the full spectrum of training, there will not be any further products that you "need" to purchase within the members area. This is unlike any programs out there.

Personally, I feel that the WA course is the best stepping stone for any one who wants to start an online business. You will be a seasoned affiliate marketer after going through the entire WA course.

See what the premium membership offers:

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

Hey there Jack, I'm progressing through the trainings and have set up a website. Even though I've got a few niche ideas floating around my head, I think that for starters, I'll keep things nice and simple. I've gone with 'Plaid Shirts'. I know I'll get a chance to implement some of the other niche ideas I have, but only after I've gone through all the trainings and tested things with this first niche. Haha 'Right or Wrong...carry on!' So long as I'm progressing and learning right. Then I'll get stuck into some these other ideas. It's gonna be a FUN and EXCITING ride!!
Cheers for your ongoing support.

Great mentality! Its always recommended to focus on one niche and make it successful before jumping into another.

However, I am not sure what is your plan to promote Plaid Shirts. Do you have a lot of content ideas for this?
Reply
RegularJoe Premium
Hey there Jack...Promote??Content Ideas?? Man I'm really just rolling with the trainings at the moment. Kyle said to pick a niche, and a few ideas popped into my head, including plaid shirts. I wear them, I like them. With regards to content and promotions, um I haven't reached that training sesh yet. I'm thinking it must be important for you to mention it huh? So I guess for my first website, I'm really just looking to embrace the trainings, aswell as the onging feedback from good coaches within the WA community (like you) and learn, develop, fail/succeed and grow from the experience. That way my next website will be a little better...and then the next one, and then next one and so on, and so on.
I know my first attempt won't be a 'home-run', but I'll certainly be looking to at least get on first base! I know I'll keep improving with each turn at bat.
Cheers again for your time.

The reason I mentioned content ideas and all is because you'll need to constantly write articles to get ranked on Google and with the idea that you had, I can't piece out any content ideas, that's why I am asking.

Maybe you can try thinking of other niches, but if you can't decide which niche to go with, I would recommend that you promote Wealthy Affiliate instead.

If you decide to do so, you can head straight to the "Affiliate Bootcamp" instead of the "certification course".

Feel free to hit me with any ideas, I'll be more than happy to help.

RegularJoe Premium
Hey there Jack, thanks for clarifying. Hmmm, ok that makes sense regarding ongoing content creation. Man I'm gonna have to get really creative with my content writing.

I probably won't be promoting WA until I start to see positive results from my niche website creations.

It's probably covered in a future training session, and if so, then you don't need to reply, but do you have a step by step thought process checklist that you always go through, regarding content writing topics?
Reply
BNakedScam Premium
I’ll share a few strategies:

1. Identify your prospective competitors (by googling common keywords in your niche), then check out their content. It will give you a good idea on what to write.

2. Join facebook groups related to your niche. Study their conversations and you’ll know the pain points of the people in your niche. You can write content that actually help solvethw problems.

3. Subscribe to your competitors’ email list and see what they are promoting. Whatever products they are promoting, you can write a review about the product.

4. Think of where your audience (people in your niche) will congregate. Then mingle around them (online or offline). You’ll probably hear news or gossips and you can use them to your advantage (write content with the knowledge you’ve gained.

These are some of the ninja techniques that I use to generate content ideas.

Hey there Jack. I've been thinking about something you touched on earlier.
Even though I've got a few post title ideas for plaid shirt, maybe concentrating on just the 'plaid shirts' niche would really limit my ability to engage and talk about anything else with potential site visitors resulting in low traffic.
What do you think about me trying to establish a brand. I'm usually a positive, encouraging, polite, funny (well I think so), supportive, sometimes insightful kind of guy. And I've always been a little different with my random social media posts, but they usually generate engagement with my friends.

So what are your thoughts about the idea of me establishing myself as a brand, like 'GLAD-DAD' and then I would be able to talk about heaps of random stuff like 'Plaid shirts'?
Anyway, I'm off to work now. Have a great day Jack. Thanks again for your time.

Hey Joe,

Having a focus is the way to go.

Promoting random stuff only generates interest, but not sales.

You'll need to be an expert in a certain field so that people will heed your advice and buy stuff that you recommend.

Its a good idea to establish yourself as a brand, but your brand have to stand for something.

Find a focus, and establish yourself as a trusted brand in a certain field.

Hey there Jack, thanks for the great advice.
Hmmm, ok focus, focus, focus...nope still blank.

Thanks again Jack. Really appreciate your feedback.

Hey there Jack,

Figuring out a niche isn't easy...but there's always hope.

On that note, what are your thoughts about my website specialising on the theme of 'HOPE'?

I don't have an actual product of my own. So I was thinking about developing myself as an expert in the Niche area of 'Hope products'. Products that literally say 'Hope'. The potential is huge!

I could promote a wide range of products (including cups, keyrings, T-shirts, books, etc) on my page. If customers are interested in a product, they would click on an image/link, which would then lead them back to the original sales platform that I borrowed the image from e.g Amazon.

My website would have many many uplifting posts about different things that related to the main theme of HOPE:
- Having hope for a brighter tomorrow.
- Hoping for the best.
- The slippery slope of hope.
- Hope for ourselves and others.
- Hope that our government will do the right thing.
- Hope quotes.
- Hope songs.
- Movies that inspire hope.
- Poems about hope.
- Hope humour, like me going for the 'Hope shot' with this niche.
(...just to name a few. But endless potential to write about hope.)

I would write about my own experiences. I could seek cooperation from other WA members to write about their experiences. I could mention links to other expert sites like Oprah.com

I was hopeful to use the brand name of 'Glad Dad'. However, if you don't recommend that then maybe the site name of something like:
- Theres hope for you.com
- Heres hoping.com
- Hope shot.com
- Always have hope.com
- Hope is dope.com

Is this niche still too broad?
Do I need to focus further?
What are your suggestions please?

I look forward to your response.
I hope you're having a cool day.
Thanks heaps for your time.

Cheers
Joe

Hey Joe,

Mu sincere apologies for my late response.

I personally feel that it is too broad.

Let me give you a set of guidelines to identify a profitable niche:

To identify a good niche, there are basically 3 steps:

1. A good amount of people (traffic) interested in your niche.

You may want to use the Jaaxy keyword tool to check if there are many people interested in your intended niche. You can do that by thinking of some general keywords and typing them in the Jaaxy keyword tool. Generally, you do not want to enter a Niche that nobody is interested in.

2. Have the right type of affiliate products to promote

To be successful with affiliate marketing (to earn a full time income month in month out), you'll have to promote either of the following categories of products:

- Affiliate programs that have continuity and awards you with recurring commissions (e.g. membership sites);
- Affiliate programs that have high ticket products and rewards you with high commissions.

So, if your niche has affiliate products that I've mentioned, it will pass this test.

To identify the possible affiliate products that you can promote, you can search on Google by typing "Your selected Niche + Affiliate Programs", or you can find out from other successful websites in your niche (see what they are promoting). I am sure you will come across some successful affiliates' websites when you are doing your first test above.

3. The more competitors in your niche, the better!

It means that your niche is profitable. Don't worry about competition because you will learn how to beat them as you move along with the lessons.

I am sure at this step, you already have some clues as to who are your competitors in your niche. If you can identify at least 5 to 10 successful affiliates' sites, your niche passes this test.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
