When I click on a product to purchase from a Niche Website and it takes me to Amazon it does not stay connected to the Niche Website product page once I sign-into Amazon

M

I am sorry I am late on this but it looks like you are getting assistance best of luck

@baietti No need to be sorry. Thank you so much for your concern and input. It is appreciated. You are a caring person.

Amazon uses a 24 hour cookie so anything you do on Amazon for that period of time is being tracked regardless of what details you see in the address bar.

That means the niche site is still going to get credit if you bought the book within that 24 hour window unless you decided to leave and return via another amazon affiliate.

PS. Horizontal rule adds a line running acrosss the page - just like the one between each comment on this page

@Jay Gumbs Let me see if I understand - I do not need to see the account number or any signs in the address bar for Amazon to credit the vendor's account.

Does this still whole true if the item is bought from another vendor? As I wrote, the item is gone from the page once I sign-in with Amazon. The item is under 'browse' and has not been ordered.

How or what can the vendor do to keep the customer on their account?

Also, Thank you for the answer on Horizontal rule.

Ok you're kinda confusing me now. Instead of vendor, do you mean affiliate?

If that's the case then you do not need to see anything in the address bar at all. The address bar doesn't track the sale. The cookie that is placed on the user's computer is what does the job of keeping track of the sale. As long as the user makes a purchase on Amazon within 24 hours of clicking your affiliate link, you get the credit.

"Does this still whole true if the item is bought from another (affiliate)?"

The way most tracking systems work, including Amazon's is that whenever the user clicks another affiliate link what happens is that the original affiliate's cookie is overwritten and the new affiliate gets the credit for the sale. However, Amazon does such a great job at selling their items that most people are not going to leave Amazon and go look for more information. It depends but in most cases, they aren't.

"As I wrote, the item is gone from the page once I sign-in with Amazon. The item is under 'browse' and has not been ordered."

It doesn't matter. Even if you bought a fridge after clicking on a link for a book, Amazon will still pay commissions for that item so it doesn't matter what page you're on. As long as it happens within that 24 hour window. The cookie keeps track of the referring affiliate regardless of what the address bar says.

"How or what can the vendor do to keep the customer on their account?"

Nothing really. The customer is kept "on your account" for 24 hours via a browser cookie.

Hope that answers all your questions. Tell me if there's something that isn't clear and I'll see how I can clear it up.

Bottomline - You will get paid for the sale if it happens within 24 hours.

@Jay gumbs - Yes, vendor is affiliate. This is very interesting and good to know. I may have sent a commission to a website in the past and did not know it. Ha!
Bottom of line - Once a Customer clicks on the Affiliate link, the Affiliate receives commission on what the Customer buys for 24 hours of the click.

Last Question (I think) is the link broken if the Customer logs out and then logs back in?

PS: You write very clear answers thank you.

Thanks Regala.

Short answer this time: No.

@Jay Gumbs No more questions. Thank you for your clear answers and explanations. Excellent!

Wow, that is crazy, I would assume it is because you are in one of the banned states, I wish you the best of luck with this, have you sent a PM to Kyle or Carson

@baietti It is a puzzle. As a starter 7 day trial, there is no Private Messaging, so no, I have not sent this to Kyle or Carson.

I would go to their page directly and post a comment to have them get back to you with an answer, I am sure they will have suggestions for you, because that would be a problem for me as Amazon is widely recognized and I would want to be an affiliate for Amazon, best of luck

@baietti I received an 'oops only Premium members' when I tried to comment on Kyle's page.

Here on Day 2 - Where do I find WA terms or contract? I am about to create a website & wonder about the future. Can I have a different website hosted by BlueHost not connect

Hi Regala , I'm sure you can move your site again time you want ..

Hi Regala , you can switch your hosting anytime you upgrade to the prime account . I don't think you are under any contract within WA ! I am not sure with the Free sites you get ..

Hi! Thanks for taking time to reply. Yes, I understand from all the videos I have watched about the premium upgrade. What I am wondering is going solo without WA assistance. I am just preventing any legal hassles in the future.

Student: What's the right question to ask? I don't know.

Teacher: It may be best to just explain what is in that head of yours.

Agreed with the answer below. I would imagine that Paypal is overwhelmingly what most people use.

Hello Meredithlonestar. Paypal needs to connect to a bank. It is the bank that I was questioning about not PayPal. Sorry if my written words were confusing. In fact, as I re-read my own entry, there is a lot more to this submission than information for an online bank. There is blending of services. Amazon and eBay requirements. Thanks for the reply.

I don't have huge experience with this but all the banking I do online is with paypal which connects to a business account I set up at my local bank. You only need a license for your business account in certain circumstances. you might want to check IRS information on business accounts. Good luck!

Thank you for your answer
