No Negative Thoughts Allowed!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just watch a few easy lessons, set up our site, and then sit back and watch the money start rolling in? If it were that easy, wouldn't everyone be doing it?

If you really think about it, not everyone can be an affiliate.....someone has to fill all those orders placed online. Someone has to physically work at the companies that produce and market those millions of products. Someone has to move and ship all those products. Someone has to be working at the bank and in the offices. And no matter what, someone has to work at hospitals, doctors offices and nursing homes.

Imagine it....if everyone suddenly decided to quit their job to just sell things online, what would happen to the actual world we live in? It's nice to daydream about quitting the job that eats so much of our time and drains us, though, isn't it? It's nice to imagine what life would be like if we could write a blog (like this one) and receive an almost sinful income each and every time we do it!

But in the real world, it just doesn't happen that way. People who say it does are liars or got super super lucky.

I've been a member of WA for almost 7 weeks now, am slowly working through the lessons (almost finished with course 3). Here are some things I've learned:

• If you choose a niche in a subject that you are passionate about, the creative juices will flow naturally, but you still have to organize them and document them. Being creative and talking about being creative are two different things!
• Splitting your time between actually working on the site and interacting with other WA members can be tricky. With all the information available here, it is easy to use up available time interacting when you should be writing and editing your own content!
• You simply cannot read each and every blog written!
• Really successful people have worked hard for it. It may just be sitting at a computer screen, but how many hours of research was put into each and every post? I have eaten up hours just searching for an image or clipart to use that I've had in mind.
• I still have to tell myself each and every day "baby steps," Don't give up! I will eventually reach my goal. Re-read the original goals now and then.
• Real life happens! If I can't work on my site for a few days, it really is okay! Just don't give up on it, never give up.
• An online business is just like a brick and mortar business - you don't own it. It owns you!
