I desperately need a new computer.

The title says it all. I've been struggling in my blogging efforts for various reasons. Most of these I am sure I will overcome with time and a few well places blows to the head. However When it takes three hours or more to publish a post that only took an hour to write there is a problem.

I struggled trough it at first, denying myself sleep because my computer has also been shutting itself down if left alone for more than 10 minutes (yes I have changed the setting but it keeps doing it anyway) so I can wiggle the mouse and keep the thing awake while it thinks about thinking about maybe publishing. But then things kept getting worse. I started getting the blue screen of death once a week, then once a day and now several times a day. I removed several programs from my hard drive but still the problem persisted. Recently I updated my Anti-Virus and in order to get it to download I had to pick up my computer and temporarily set it up on the Living Room floor and hardwired it directly into the modem to get it to complete the download. Fortunately it's a laptop and so not that hard to move.

Sadly the apartment is set up so that running an Ethernet cord to my desk would create a hazard. This is a concern because the wireless card is showing signs of trying to die. The processor also seems to be going and lately its a shot in the dark to get the desktop to load. Actually the whole thing is old and decrepit in terms of modern computers.

What this means is that if I want to continue with this I desperately need a new computer and until I get one I am pretty much out of the running on blogging.

Fortunately I still have a working table. Wish me luck on getting a new computer.

It sounds like your CPU may be overheating. The fan that belongs to the heat sync that cools the CPU may have stopped working.

Sadly it's more than just the CPU fan going out. I've been getting lots of signs that I can no longer ignore :(
