Update from canada
In the rat race but still a rat.
When I signed up with WA and became a Premium member right out of the gate, I decided that if I should do this, I should "do it right."
Do it right to me means do what successful WA's are doing but still, to quote Mr. Jim Rohn, "make sure that what you do is a product of your own conclusions".
If you don't know about Jim Rohn, check him out. Read his books. Listen to his "tapes." He is the granddad I never had, and he can remove all dark clouds from my mind, make me old entrepreneurial heart skip a beat from enthusiasm. He was the real deal.
Anyway, back on topic. I am following the training to the letter, and today it is blogging time so what you read here is the assignment
My progress this far
Since I signed up, I have bought two domains and created one website. The second one is for my next niche but I loved the domain name so much I had to buy it.
It took quite a bit of time to get the theme as I wanted it and I have spent (too much) time writing my "Meet Lars." I have actually only written 2 out of 4 parts. I have for a very long time felt the need to put some words on paper about how I ended up in Canada (originally from Denmark), so I decided to use this as an opportunity to do just that.
I have also created the basic pages ie Policy and Affiliate Disclaimer and on top of that two long posts of niche related topics.
My niche
My niche: The Midlife Hustle.
Yes I know, very broad. However, I will narrow it further down when I start posting so it will revolve around the health and work life of men between 40 and 65.
Any successes?
Financial success: Nope. Down CA$500 so far but that is to be expected. You cannot make an omelet without breaking some eggs.
My plans and goals in the upcoming 6 months
I plan is to post once a week on my first website. I am a realistic guy, and I have a physical business to run while doing this on the side while getting fit as never before, and while developing the next big thing in As Seen On TV.
A lot of stuff is going on but with acareful laidout plan, everything is possible.
My plans and goals in the upcoming 12 months
As website is more of a lifestyle blog, my expectations are matched to fit. Of course, it can grow to something financial attractive, but I think it will take a lot longer than a regular product blog. For that reason, I will start to build my second blog in about six months, maybe before.
If you have read this far and feel like giving me some feedback, suggestions, or just a comment, I will be very happy.
All the best to everyone.
Lars

Thank you for sharing, Lars!
By the way, we are not allowed to promote our website and social links at WA blog. Please de-link it. Thank you :o) Wealthy Affiliate - The Open Education Project
Thank you for your comment and your point.
I'll look into it.
It's Sunday and I'm not in the mood to discuss but I think that mentioning my website url in a blog post where to objective is to mention your progress, niche etc, is only spam if one really are determined to look for spam.
Thank you.
Lars
You may find that your first site becomes more narrowly focused as time goes on. That's something that can evolve over time. In the meantime, I think you are quite realistic in your plans, and even with one post a week, if it's a relevant post that attracts readers, you can easily still start making some money from it. You'd be surprised! Keep up the great job. BTW, there are lots of Canada merchants around for sure.
Thank you very much for your comment and insight.
I think you're right. I will certainly do my out most to post something read-worthy on a weekly basis.
All the best to you too.
Lars

So how did a guy from Denmark end up in Canada ... Quebec no less? Your English is good and I assume so is your Danish. Do you also speak French?
Sounds like the 9 to 5 gig kind of got to you or are you really having a midlife crises as they say? Midlife Hustle ... I like it. Have you decided what direction your content will take and will that support say a post a week?
Busy times ahead for sure. I wish you the best.
Yes, how did a guy from Denmark end up in Quebec? You can actually find the answer to that question on my website under "about".
I like you add the "Quebec no less". It looks like you have some inside knowledge on the Canadian Quebec situation :-)
I do not speak French but that is not a problem as I live just across the Ottawa river, so every weekday I drive to Ontario to do my business.
I am not having a midlife crisis, only a midlife hustle. I am still working on a finalized path for my website but I am sure it will go wherever I let it. Yes, one post a week is my goal. If I want to deliver valuable content, I cannot do more.
What is your website about? If you don't mind me asking, you are welcome to PM me a link.
Cheers.
