Time to Relax
Introduction
Good Evening, to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
Today has been a day of doing nothing, that is when I have not been fast asleep in my chair, I think that things are still catching up with me.
I just cannot believe how kind and thoughtful people are being to me, not that I am complaining, I just think that it is so very nice.
The Last Few Days
The most important event of the week was the funeral of my dear wife, it was a really lovely service, my two children read very well, Richard in doing the eulogy, reflecting his Mum's life perfectly, while Gillian wrote a poem called "Holding Hands" which was lovely. My reading went OK, but so it should it must be seventy years since I read my first lesson, still do in November.
When Gillian had finished, both of them went to the coffin and touched it. I just bowed my head, crossed myself and said goodbye.
Before the service when we left home, one guy came and stood opposite the hearse to pay his respects as did the hairdresser next door. I was very humbled to see just about every curtain in the street shut as a mark of respect, people still do know how to behave and show respect.
As expected we were few in number, however, a lady who lived opposite us for a longtime and moved some years ago came, as did one of the carers who represented her team, a couple of our friends came, one representing a family who we have known for many years. was delighted to see four of our Branch Members present.
I was touched to see that the family had a wreath with Mum on it, the Grandchildren had one in the shape of a heart, my spray was full of spring flowers, with a red rose in the middle, this now is on top of our dog Sammy's grave. Must mention that when I look down the middle path I can see some of the spray, it does brighten the day.
I have managed to do a little tidying up in the garden, my idea is, now that I have two composting bins is to fill one a week, I certainly have enough to go at in the garden of wilderness. It is an ambition of mine to get the garden looking nice again, as I know that Yvonne loved to see it looking nice, but my health and looking after her has restricted things somewhat.
Have the idea, that as I have a number of large pots, to gradually fill them with shrubs, to this end have bought two witch hazel, these are now in pots, which I have placed in old chimney pots, at least I have made a start.
Would like to choose shrubs that flower over differing times of the year.
The Next Few Days
Do have to attend the Cricket Club on Tuesday to pick up my season ticket and other bits, it will do me good to get out.
Do have quite a lot of paperwork to do, would like to do some work on the garden and begin to get back to the business, but I promise not to rush.
Forgive more tonight, ready for a meal.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy,
Please do take care,
God Bless
Stuart

Stuart, I really appreciate you sharing this. Losing someone we love is incredibly hard, and the way you describe the support around you is touching. The kindness of neighbors, the meaningful service, and the thoughtful tributes from your children show how much Yvonne was cherished.
Itโs good to hear youโre taking things one step at a time. The garden sounds like a wonderful way to honor her memory. Shrubs that bloom at different times of the year will keep a piece of her love for the garden alive in every season.
Take care of yourself, and I hope getting out to the Cricket Club brings you some fresh air and a bit of normalcy. One step at a time.
Kind regards,
Boris
Hi Boris,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful words, which are very much appreciated
Best wishes,
Stuart
Well VH
It sounds like everything went very well and she was a lucky lady to have all of you.
You (and your body) have been through a lot lately. Let yourself get strong again. I'm happy to hear you got out in the garden. That seems to soothe your soul and keep your mind/hands active.
Take all the time you need to get back to business. It's not going anywhere.
Thinking of you and continuing prayers for your comfort
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
As always many thanks for this, a lovely surprise on a Monday morning, which finds me in a more relaxed and if possible more content frame of mind today, I do have both good and bad days.
I know that I speak for us all when I say we were lucky to have had her, as a Wife, Mum and Nan.
The garden does indeed soothe my mind, despite the hard work, it also relaxes me.
You are right about the business, but I still intend to have a wee look at things this week!!
Take care dear lady and have a most awesome week.
As always,
Your VH
Stuart,
I am pleased to hear that so many showed you, your wife, and family the respect you richly deserved. May God bless you and your family.
Jerry

I appreciate you sharing how the funeral went and how respectful your neighbours were.
I suppose your garden is still very wet, but this coming week is supposed to be drier and sunnier as well as a bit warmer, so it will be a good time to make a start on tidying up the garden. The fresh air and sunshine should do you good, not only physically, but also emotionally.
I hope your week turns out well.
With lots of good wishes from North Gloucestershire,
Isabella
Many thanks, Isabella,
The garden is still wet, but managed to tidy up one of the shrubberys this afternoon.
Kind regards
Stuart
