Introduction

Good Afternoon to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family as always so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well. As promised it is Saturday Afternoon as I prepare and look forward to my trip to Bournemouth, I really cannot wait.

Until the last couple of days I really do not appear to have done a great deal if I am totally honest, it has been one of those weeks.

However as you will see things have got a little better.

The Last Few Days

The week started a little slowly, if I am totally honest I really could not be bothered to do anything.

Having said that I was at the cricket to see Derbyshire win in three days, still in shock!!

Took my car in for a service on Tuesday which went allright, then into Burton on Wednesday to do some last minute shopping for my break.

You will notice from the title that I have heard from Kyle that I am again an Ambassador, not quite sure how I have managed to do that, but I did it, but as always I feel honoured to join the top 25 of this illustrious group.

My daughter came as she often does on a Wednesday Afternoon, does make my week, not totally honest as I went with the lads to football on Tuesday night. Gillian was looking forward to her holiday this weekend, have just heard that they have arrived safely.

Thursday was busy, went for a haircut ready for my holiday, it was needed as I was told by Yvonne before Christmas. On the way home went to one of the local Garden Centres as I needed some holiday fish food. Whilst I was there bought a couple more shrubs, then early Evening twenty four perenials, plug plants arrived, so I potted them on. Also in the package were two more shrubs, one is a really lovely Euphorbia, with lovely purple leaves.

Yesterday I managed to clear "Sammys' flower garden" of weeds, apart from a small area of dandelions as they are smothering some black grass, this needs to be lifted so that I can replant the grasses, thought that it was better to leave them until I come back as they will need time to re-establish.

Must confess that this flower bed really does look good, ready for when the new plants are ready to fill some of the gaps. The other flower bed is going to take an awful lot of work, but I will do my best when I get back. Forgot to mention that I potted the shrubs on that needed it.

In addition to the above I have decided to move some rocks which I have just had piled out of the way, to make a rock garden, morealterations, it is something that I have been thinking about for sometime, as it will brighten up a rather drab area.

Have made some arrangements to hopefully keep the garden watered.

I have managed to do a little training today, which has pleased me.

The Next Few Days

Once I leave tomorrow morning, I will hopefully have a liesurely drive down to Bournemouth, I have no intention of rushing, I am having a break to enable me to begin to recover from my tiredness.

Plenty of Sunshine and Sea Air will do me the world of good, this does mean that I will return to a Sunday for my blog. I will also be out of touch as I have not yet got my laptop sorted out.

Be happy, healthy and wealthy.

Please do take care,

Stay safe.

God Bless,

Stuart

Hey VH,

You're probably basking in the sun right now and I must admit, I'm jealous. 🤗

I don't know HOW I'm missing your blogs although my rank, unlike yours Mr Ambassador, is WAY up there so perhaps I'm not getting all the blogs. My other thought was maybe you just needed some time to chill and settle yourself with all that you've been through lately. I can't imagine how painful your anniversary date was. I'm so sorry!!!

I just read your 6 Apr blog and I understand Congratulations are in order, Mr President. Wow, President AND Ambassador. You'll have to buy a bigger hat to contain all that power. 🤣

I have been having issues with my left instep. Come to find out, I have tendonitis and at times, it's very painful. It comes and goes though. However, when I have the pain, it zaps my energy which is annoying as I have so much to do in the house and yard along with still trying to lose my stress weight.

I am in 2 walking clubs and I hike with one or the other every Sat. This Sat, one of the ladies on our route invited us into her backyard. I know this has taken her years to accomplish, but it was AMAZING. I imagine it looks like yours. The problem with mine is that everything would have to be in pots as there are a lot of underground wires for internet, gas and electric. They all had to come out and mark up my yard before my fence was installed. My yard looked like the subway system markings. In any case, I'm sure YOU could figure this all out without spending a ton of money as I'd still like to move.

I hope you are totally enjoying/enjoyed your vacation and can come back refreshed. I best go get some of my own manual labor done while my foot is cooperating. I'm trying to finish up some Easter things for my church family.

Talk to you soon.

Hi VW,

At last I say, did wonder if you were not too well!

Will have lost the Ambassador title with being away, but good fun while it lasted.

My sister was telling me that the local paper have published a report on me being the new President, I will not bother buying it, I did approve the content.

Hope that your instep is not causing you too much pain, aching feet are a real pain.

Spent a lot of the time walking the beaches, but did sit most of yesterday, even fell asleep, watching the waves. (Sad or what).

The garden has survived despite the hot weather.

Have done the first load of washing! It is now on the drying rack, will do the rest tomorrow.

Forgive me, I am shattered, not used to driving distances anymore.

Take care dear lady.

Have a great week.

As always,

Your VH

Buy the paper even if it's for your children. It's an honor and future generations need to know how awesome you were.

Walking the beaches to soothe my soul is the only thing that I miss about living in FL. Just listening to the waves is so calming! So, no it is not sad but was good for you.

Have a great weekend. "See" you Sunday.

Hi VW,
Regarding the paper, went to the cricket today, not long after I arrived I was stood on the balcony of the executive member's lounge having a coffee, when the Chairman come upto me and said congratulations Mr President, I looked at him, he said it is in the paper, he had copied it to his phone, it was in fact another local paper, this time I am all over the front page, so will try to get a copy from the office next week.

Such fame!! In fact every time I walked past the President he saluted me, they are great people.

I did think twice about going today, but it has done me the world of good.

There is something calming about the seashore.

Take care,

God Blesss,

As always,
Your VH

Wow. Do we have to call you MR VH now and salute ?? Lol

You may remain standing at ease, then carry on!!

Thank you! 😄

Congratulations on the ambassadorship(?). Sounds like you have been busy with you garden and plants. Spring has finally made it to Arkansas so I’ve been potting plants for my deck. Tomorrow is susposed to be 80degrees F here. I love spring. This last week I published 4 new posts to my Tea blog. Tomorrow I’m hosting an Easter tea. It’s 3:11 am here right now. I’ve been baking quiche and making the egg salad for my sandwiches. I’ll get a little rest before I have to get up and get the rest of the food for my afternoon tea. Have fun in your trip.

Thanks for this, sounds like a busy time for you!

Nice work Stuart on making Ambassador status again! :)

Thanks Kyle. :)

Congratulations on being an Ambassador again.

It's good that you got some training done today. But I think 'things happen for a reason', so it may be good that your laptop isn't sorted out yet. It'll mean you can take a complete break, which your body clearly needs.

Have a lovely week.

Wishing you all the best - a good journey down and a relaxing holiday.

Isabella

Hi Isabella,

Many thanks for your kind words and good wishes.

Take care

Stuart

Sounds like you have been busy this week to me Stuart! Unfortunately.... Derbyshire don't seem to be doing so well this week though...

Enjoy yourself on your break to the South coast my friend and do take care as always! :-)

Hi Jessie,

The new Opener Caleb Jewel appears to be a really good find, three fifties in three innings, not bad eh!

We appear to have a slight recovery, think we have avoided the follow on!

Have a great week!:-)

Stuart

A great find indeed Stuart! One win, a draw and only a few points of first place is a great start I would say!!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday my friend! :-)

Back home Jess, a good break, football tomorrow, so no cricket until Saturday.

Have a great weekend!:-)
