Stay True To You!

A big mistake I see a lot of people make when they are first starting out, is copying what has already been done and coming from a place that does not reflect their real personality.

For me personally, I buy things from people! When I like someone, I will gladly spend more money with them rather then their competitor.

While I think it is great to watch what other people are doing and let it influence your actions to a certain degree, I urge you to dig deep and be unique. Instead of focusing on what others are doing, try to focus on what they are not doing. Fill The gap, find a need, and make it yours!

Writing With Honesty

The one thing we can all relate to with each other is that we are all humans with human flaws. The quickest way to reach someone on a personal level, is to point out the fact that you are not perfect and you make mistakes too.

When I was studying marketing in collage one of the first techniques we learned was to admit we made a mistake.

Example: Send out a flyer that tells the the customer that you made a shipping error and are know left with an abundance of a certain product and that you are passing the savings on to them.

This hits the customer on two levels, it shows that you are human and make mistakes, and the consumers love of a good deal.

Telling An Embarrassing Story

Some of my greatest responses have been from telling an embarrassing story about myself. Everyone can relate to being embarrassed at some point in their lives, and by divulging a personal part of yourself it quickly forms a bond with the reader, they now know you in a way that others do not.

Personality In Your Writing

When someone searchs for reviews online they want a human perspective of the product or service. I see many sites that pretty much just copy and pasted technical information from another site. If I wanted to know the exact screen size of a certain TV I would go to a site like Amazon and look at it.

So, when writing your articles, write them as if you were talking to your best friend about it. If you were telling your friend about some amazing surround sound speakers would you say "I like that they have 5 ounce magnets and rubber surrounds" or would you say something like "the sound was so amazing it felt like I was in the movie!".

Be you and you can never go wrong!

You are absolutely correct. Great knowledgable share - thanks!

once you can fake sincerity you have got it made LOL- seriously- good post- and thanks- Andy

Thanks Andy!

This is one of the best posts I've read on here! I completely agree with you that you have to be yourself.

This - " I see many sites that pretty much just copy and pasted technical information from another site" irritates the heck out of me! Technical details or a description of what the item is does not equal a review.

Well said.

Thank you!

That was really good Lucian & I know everyone can relate to it too.

Thank you so much!

Great post! Love the last paragraph, you wrapped it up in one paragraph.

Thanks Wayne, I always appreciate comments from you. And congrats on your ambassadorship!
