I have been in general practice and struggling to narrow down to a niche in Healthcare space. Anyone else in such a predicament?

I am not in the health care niche but here are some general principles you can apply so you can refine it to your liking.

A niche is something you feel super excited to write about, a skill you have attained, something that resonates with you. You will want to be focused on one niche. What is it that you want to help a group of people with or what problem do you want to help them solve (group could be age, gender, location, experience level, degree or type of need, etc.)

A niche is not a product, it's a subject that you can help a target audience with. Remember, you are not setting up a shop (store), you will be writing lots of articles about your niche to help your targeted audience.

The importance of a targeted audience is that It's always better to target a specific niche with a specific solution to problems.

Kyle asks us to complete this statement.
'i want to help ____(group) with ______(problem)'

For example. I like camping.
Camping is a very broad topic with a lot of competition so to eliminate some competition in the beginning and to give my website has a chance to rank and grow in traffic, the focus needs to be a smaller scope.

For example my initial narrow scope could be: essential camping equipment for beginners. I can talk about camping, my experiences, what I have learned about camping, and how I have discovered what is really needed. Since I am quality focused, I have found good equipment which I believe is the very best. I will share my review of the equipment I use and why it is the best. Once the website is established and has a good volume of traffic, its scope can be expanded to include other things camping related.

So with my initial narrow scope, after visiting my website, a beginning camper will have a good idea of what camping is all about for a beginner and the equipment needed and the best brand products to buy. I will have many products on my niche website, but they will all relate to camping.

I am passionate about camping and want my readers to get excited about it too and feel comfortable when going for the first time that they have the necessary equipment..

So my niche is camping with an initial narrow scope. My targeted group is beginning campers wondering what equipment is needed and what the best is.

I have had some disappointing experiences so I want to help them avoid the same mistakes I have made. I will help campers buy the right equipment to make their camping experience more pleasant and safe.

I will write many content posts about camping (the how to’s, what is, etc.). A beginner camper has no idea what kind of equipment is necessary. So I will write posts about the necessary equipment. I will choose products I can recommend. I will compare products and identify the best. So after visiting my website a beginning camper will have a good idea of what camping equipment is needed and the best brand products to buy. So I will have many products on my niche website, but they will all relate to camping equipment necessary for a pleasant and safe camping experience.

Why should you narrow your niche when first starting?
The key to getting started fast is to narrow your niche down to a specific topic. This way, you will eliminate a lot of competition and get results much faster. Once your site is established and you are getting traffic you can expand your niche scope.

Keep in mind it's important to choose a niche specific enough that way the target audience arrives at the website and finds exactly what they're looking for. When you go to broad, you lose that.

Health and Wellness would be a very, very broad niche, a little too broad.

If you choose a niche specific enough with plenty of room for scaling out later you are in good shape.

Here are a couple of blogs on narrowing and expanding a niche.
How to narrow a niche down How To Expand Your niche later Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.

Hi

In the first instance, I'd ask myself

Am I passionate and genuinely interested in my chosen niche, as I I'd be expected to write lots of content, it would motivate me to update blog with succinct original content worthy my visitors week in week out.

Would I be writing about it in a years time or two or more

Who would be my target audience, who would benefit most from what I have to offer.

You may look up below resource for more ideas

The question is WHO would be your target audience vs Not what you are selling to an audience.

You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

The recommendation is to focus on ONE site starting out as it takes lots of effort and work get it going, however once you know what you are doing, then the learning curve would be less steeper to scale up.

I'd want to narrow it down to a subcategory starting out, otherwise you will find it very hard to get noticed by the search engines and to compete with big authority sites. Target audience is important too, who would you be writing to, once you are able to identify them, you are closer to finding a focused niche.

Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.

See example blog post below A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Your niche research which you'd fine in site content > templates:-

Questions People are Asking
How to Solutions
Resources Within the Niche
Products You Can Promote/Review
Affiliate Programs
Products
Top Authority Sites/Competitors
Low Competition Keywords
Popular Magazines / Papers / Periodicals
Advertisement Ideas / Headline Ideas

Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.
