How Do You Measure Early Success in Wealthy Affiliate?

Welp, I'm in my third week of wealthy affiliate-ship and I've gotta say...so far it's been an uphill battle.

Yep, that's right, just 22 days in and I'm already being thrown into a WA-induced existential black hole of sorts.

Eh, maybe that's a bit dramatic...

Anyways, some of the questions that occur to me at this angsty stage in my WA developmental cycle are:

1.) How is success measured this early on? and

2.) As a beginner, how do you foster sustainable motivation now to continue striving for "success" later on down the road?

To answer this question for myself, I'd argue that even in the past couple of weeks I've become a little bit better at writing. That's a silver lining. I imagine that if I keep up the pace, keep the articles and content coming, that even if I can't measure my success in $$ or traffic, at the very least I will be able to look back and say, hey, I dotted my qs and crossed my ts pretty darn well on that there website of mine.

The second way I'm thinking might be useful in terms of motivation is my (presently absent) audience of browsers on the internets. If I can write things that help people in any sort of way then thats a plus for me. Further, if I can write things AND earn a commission by promoting things that help people then that, my friends, would be the proverbial cherry on top.

Anyways, I'll leave it at that for now.

I hope you all are enjoying the ends of your summers (or winters), and staying positive!

Best,

Pat

So far so good, Pat!

Jeff

Plan for at least six months without asking whyyyyyy!
No, don't ask.
No why's till you are 6 months old.
Shhhhh.

Now about the rest. U have a great style of writing. I loved this post.

For inspiration (without any goal in sight), please click on my Daily Motivation blogs, and don't forget to leave a comment (or two).

In similar despair,
Aparna

Fair enough!! This is good advice. In six months time, mark your calendar for a very long "whyyyy" post from me. Haha! ;).

Thanks for the feedback, Aparna!

All the best,

Pat

Hi Pat, some good questions here

For me early on and still to be honest progress is doing the training and clicking the actions. It means I was progressing. Each blog, each link , each index they all add up. It like saving a coin each day and investing it, it does not seem like a lot at the time but it really adds up long term.

You second question is an excellent one which is how do you keep motivated? Everyone is different but for me I have a big sign in my office that has an "outcome statment "so a goal with all the senses on , see, hear, feel on why I joined in the first place. What do I really really want from this. So a purpose, mission followed by a strategy. It really helps me but I know we are all different.

Stick with it and remember you are part of a massive industry and ahead of the game. Most people don't know this stuff. Good luck Phil

Thanks for the feedback and insight. Indexed articles are another great way of measuring success AND growth. Perhaps growth is a good proxy for success in the early stages.

Best wishes !!
