If I click on an affiliate link from a website, do I have to purchase as a "visitor" or "guest" in order for the affiliate commission to be paid or can I log in to my account,

Hey Paula
I login my account when I want to purchase goods from Amazon. I really never logged in as a guest. But I got this from Amazon site "If you are using the Amazon Pay button (guest checkout) option, only the partial shipping address is shown to you until you confirm the Order Reference object by calling the ConfirmOrderReference operation. You can use this partial address to compute taxes and shipping costs"
I would not login and purchase from my links because then Amazon will ban me from their program.
Wishing you well and a terrific day.

Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry that what I'm trying to ask isn't coming across correctly. I'm not wanting to purchase anything from my affiliate links. If I'm on your site and I want to help you by clicking your affiliate link and purchasing through your site, would I still log in to my Amazon account after your affiliate link takes me there or does that remove your affiliate commission once I log into my personal account and make my purchase?

I think yes you would not need finalize your purchases at checkout. I think with Amazon there's a cooling period for them payouts to allow time for chargebacks. Commissions are allocated after a successful purchase transaction.

Hi purchasing from your own links will render your affiliations void. So it is a no no.

You can't purchase through you own links, nor can family or friends, especially with Amazon, they will know.

hopefully you will not be purchasing from your own links ...as most programs will ban you if you do this....
so going through others sites wil lbe thorugh their links and you will be taken through the process with their link...
have fun

I think I worded my question wrong.Let me try again. :)
You are correct, I'm not purchasing from my own affiliate link. Ha! If I click on an affiliate (we'll say for Amazon) on your site, do I need to place my order as a guest once I'm take to Amazon, or do I log in to my Amazon account?

was hoping that was the case Paula...
once you click and are taken to amazon then you do as you normally do...you are tagged for 24 hours with amazon and any purchaces you make i get a commission...
other affiliate offers will differ...
