I screw it up and you fix it! Thanks
I resolved myself to having to re-build it from scratch. Not a nice thought as these things seem to take me much longer than I suspect it takes more experienced and cleverer WA Members.
I e-mailed the theme developers but am still waiting for there response.
What should I do, I asked myself as I tossed and turned all night? I felt almost too embarrassed to raise a ticket as I knew I was the one who had caused this monumental foul up! Maybe it would be better to quietly delete the site and attempt to resurrect it from the pages and posts I had managed to salvage.
Eventually I bit the bullet and raised a ticket with the Help Desk, throwing myself on their mercy.
I didn't expect any sympathy and and the problem itself looked so intractable, so I had resigned myself to having to do a complete rebuild. :-(
This afternoon I checked the Ticket, fearing the worst. To my utter amazement, surprise and delight there was a message saying, basically, all was well again and the site was up and running again! They'd mended it! What great service!
firehdcovers.com lives again!
I can only say 'Many Thanks' to all concerned at the WA Help Desk and yes, I will in future do my backups, as I know I should.
Dave

Great news! However, I've seen a couple of sites recently that just weren't recoverable. I definitely think everyone should add this to their "to do" list: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-backup-entire-wordpress-blog-have-it-auto-sent-to-a-free-dropbox-account

We all learn don't we ... lol. I'm glad you got your work back Dave and even more glad your fears and embarrassment were unfounded. I've never had a bad experience with WA - even when I feel I'm being a tad on the gormless side ... lol! P.
I've learned to do my backups now because of that error, so it did have a positive outcome.
