Why Isn't My Brand-New Superb Article Ranking Anywhere on Google?

It feels like that sometimes, doesn't it?

That we are totally insignificant to this giant, all-powerful Google who, though supposedly smart, wouldn't recognize a valuable blog post if it jumped up and bit it on the you know where.

Well, the first thing you must do is get rid of that attitude.

After all, others are ranked on page 1 of a Google search for your keyword.

And you can do it too!

Broadly, there are 3 things you need to get highly ranked (organically) in Google:

  1. Your site has to have been around long enough to have accumulated some authority. Take a year as a rough guide. If that's not so, the solution is simple. Keep posting valuable content and wait patiently. Or impatiently. It doesn't matter, as long as you keep creating relevant content while you do so.
  2. Accumulate backlinks ... slowly. Never pay for them. Join relevant social media groups and post valuable content. Earn some respect. Start including backlinks to your website for more information. You must be there to help other members of the group.
  3. This is the one you can start doing right away. Write articles that provide specific value to a tightly defined audience, using keywords that not only attract that audience but convince Google's algorithm that Google's customers will find it valuable.

Now, you can use ChatGPT (including the free version) to create such articles.

But there's more (a lot more) to it than just prompting ChatGPT with "write me an article on [topic]". That's what everyone else is doing. You have to be a lot smarter than that.

And yes, there's some work involved.

But it's worth it.

Watch out for my next WA blog post "How to Use ChatGPT to Write a Blog Post That Gathers in Your Target Audience and Persuades Google's Algorithm to Reward You with High Rankings for Relevant Keywords".

Hmm ... perhaps I should ask ChatGPT to make that a little more compact.

Thanks for this amazing blog article Phil.

I am new to WA and have made commitment to stick with it and just be a sponge and learn all that I can about affiliate/digital marketing. My first site is up and running. For that I am excite.

My achilles heal is my lack of patience. I find my self not persisting long enough to actually succeed in most anything. I get bored. I get anxious. I get down on myself. However, I know deep down inside that success means consistency, persistency, and just staying the course.

So... bottom line.... I am here for at least a year to see if I can make this thing work for me. I appreciate your engagement here at WA.

It's been said that the common trait of all successful people is persistence.

Good luck with it all, Spencer.

Hi Phil

When I read some of the content ranking on page one for the guitar niche it seems like Google has thrown EEAT out the window.

Most of the high-ranking answers on Reddit and Quora are not even close to being accurate or helpful.

Under them are a host of other high-domain-authority sites with thin content.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens going forward. AI is changing the way people are acquiring information.

Indeed. They haven't got it right yet, with some of the irrelevant stuff that gets ranked.

🙏🏻

Thanks, Minna.

I appreciate the information, Phil.
