$911.94: A Belated Christmas Present from Amazon
Back in December, Amazon sold a number of my little book of grandad jokes.
It was published through the Amazon KDP platform and costs me nothing in fees.
And the only cost to produce was the $10 or so that I paid someone on Fiverr to design the cover. That was a 1-time cost, of course.
Clearly, it was being sold as a stocking stuffer.
"Hey, what can we get grandad for Christmas? Mmm... what about this?"
Now, Amazon pay the royalties for KDP sales two months after the sale is made.
Great for their cash flow.
But they're Amazon, right? So they can do anything they like.
Anyway, the royalties for those Christmas sales arrived in my bank account on February 28 and totaled $911.94.
No fortune, but because I'm in Australia and the overwhelming majority of my sales are in the US and the UK, it was literally income while I slept.
And that's the ultimate goal for all of us.
I have some training on Amazon publishing here in WA, so if anyone's interested in this particular gravy train, I'm happy to point you in the right direction.

Hi! Yes the Amazon KDP really works! I want to finally make use of it to earn more money. In Poland where I am from the is one guy who created his YouTube channel “from waiter to millionaire” and he tells his story that he started with Amazon KDP. Now his selling the book for a long time and has earned plenty of money!
