Positive Evening Rituals

Hi dear fellow WA's!

Just wanted to share my evening 'ritual' to a positive attitude. Every day, after a long day of work, and all the daily challenges I need some positive reinforcement.

I take a nice shower before bed, and after that, I recite my 'mantras'. These can be different daily, but many times the message is roughly the same.

Even when it's very late and have to get up early in the morning (my alarm clock wakes me up at 5 AM) I tell myself that 5 hours of sleep is more than enough, and I will feel rested and fresh when I wake up. I also think of the past day and am thankful for all the good things that happened to me, and the things that I could do for others. Then I think of tomorrow and plan my positive day ahead, what will I do to feel good and how can I make others feel good?

I'm curious to know how you reflect on your days and if and how you prepare for the day ahead?

For me, I reflect on what I did to show love to fellow humans and animals. I think above all, thats what God wants in my life.

Hello Peter, My day starts @ 4:45 a.m. With and hour of prayer and meditation. I am thankful to be able to wake once again, to see and hear this morning. I ask forgiveness for anything I might say or do that might hurt people. And help me start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude for the blessings I will receive and have received. I ask to make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so I can hear from my Maker. And let me not whine and wimper over the things I have no control over . And when the world closes in me , to slip away to a quiet place to meditate. It's the best response for when I am pushed beyond my limits. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.

Reflecting on the day is good by wondering how you could've even made it better. But looking forward to tomorrow and planning ahead is even better for what is yet to come

Always end the day with positive thoughts.

Hi Peter, I am retired and in the evening time I usually read. I need about seven hours sleep. Irv.

Peter, ( The horst man of grounded earth), You are really on target with this message...Everyone needs a positive reflection at the end of their day....yours is 'text book'. My mom always told us to make peace everyday before we went to bed, so we would wake up refreshed and ready for the new day...
Of course now that I am a tweeter of the online type...Perching allows me to perceive a distance so I am removed emotionally from my days experiences to see me/them on that movie screen...it gives me a chance to have a more logical view and spin of my positive flight to inject how I will be refreshed and grateful ready for my flocks journey of the day...
Everyone needs a daily montra....reflection....it adds a calm spiritual balance to our life.
Thanks for the reminder...repetition is the mom...

5 hours no way but 6 to 6 and half I'm good.

Hi David,

Thanks for tour reply.
A positive mindset keeps me going and able to wake up at 5.

I sure sleep more than 5 hours. Before going to bed, I step outside to feel and hear the night. I think about the day and try to pick one thing to improve tomorrow. I thank God for the past day.

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply.
Gratitude is beautiful, and being outside so good. I always go outside to walk our dog. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, Dr. J, I can tell you have Joy in your life....
If you minus off how many times you get up during the night, you most likely only get 5 real sleep hours....lol

I wish I could get by on 5 hours sleep, I simply can't. :)

Hi Jude!

The body can do so much more than everybody thinks. The mind is the limiting factor.

Jude, we forgive you.....it's a vanity thing, right? Beauty Sleep in Your case....lol
3 choices:
revenge-fight-get even
ignore it
shake-hug-be friends

I choose # 3, my new community friend...Don

Lol, I wish it were as simple as that! I'm in constant pain due to various health conditions. I sometimes need to have a nap in the afternoons to try and make up for it :)
