Good morning to you wherever you are in the world, and happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it. In many parts of the world Easter has come and gone, but here on the west coast in California Easter is just arriving. Thousands of kids had trouble sleeping last night because they were so excited about Easter morning and it wasn't arriving soon enough.
I remember it so well when I was a kid. I knew that the Easter Bunny would come in the night and when I awoke in the morning there would be an Easter basket full of goody's at the foot of my bed. There were rules though, we ( brother's and sister's) weren't allowed to indulge until mom and dad got up and even then we were allowed only one item before we all, (eight of us in total) got ready for mass. I don't know how my mom and dad did it, getting us all ready and making sure we were all cleaned up, dressed into our Sunday's finest, Must have been chaos. When it was time we would all pile into the old Plymouth Fury station wagon and off we went to church.
As a kid, the church thing was boring and I couldn't wait for it to be over so we could get on with the festivities and of course the traditional Easter egg hunt. Oh those were the days. Naturally, the tradition was continued when my children came along, but there was a slight change in the rules. They only got to keep one item in their Easter basket. The rest was to be donated to an organization that would give it to less privileged children.
It was a valuable lesson to my kids. Did they complain and moan about it, of course they did. In the long run, I think it made them better people and I think they'll agree with me today.
Today I am grateful for everything I have. I have been blessed as my three children grew to be kind, caring, and thoughtful adults. I am grateful that I still have both my parents and that they are healthy. My dad just turned 90, mom is 86 and they just celebrated their 61st anniversary. I am grateful for Wealthy Affiliate and the incredible community that is there when I need you. Thank to you all.
Happy Easter and may you all have a blessed day.
