Dear WA members,

A few days ago I unsubscribed as a member of this nice community. In fact with pain in my hart.
Why did I do it then? The reason is very simple. Google!
I became so much discouraged after reading the new police about content and keywords, detailed explained in Google's hummingbird, that I decided to give up.
In my nonprofessional opinion, this new policy made anything what's on the internet up to today regarding SEO of a very low importance.
This means you have to study it all again.

Have a look here at http://www.link-assistant.com/news/google-hummingbird-update.html and you will learn why.

Content was king now it is emperor.
But that was the biggest struggle for me.
I am not a writer and despite that I wrote and published a book, I will never be a writer.
Simply saying; because of that I will never be on page one or two or three. In other words; I will never sell anything.

Google didn’t make me angry.
They are right. There are millions of rubbish websites on the internet. That amount will only increase if nobody is setting good rules. But that is not the only reason.
Google is business. They can only make money on quality pages!
I wish I could bring up the energy to study in depth this new policy because I am sure once you are a master at it you will make very good money on the internet.

I am sure too, that Kyle&Carson will do everything to be in line soon with hummingbird. Unfortunately I am nearly 70 and don't have patience anymore.

I want to thank everyone for the friendly atmosphere and for all what you have taught me.

Good luck to all.
Kind regards.
Peter Grieten

Peet, sorry to hear of your decision. Writing does not come easy to me either, but I think that with perseverance some success will always be made. Only you can know if you're decision is the correct one. I wish you the best for your life ahead.

Hi Peter. Although I am sad to hear you are leaving WA. I can certainly understand where you are coming from. However, have you ever thought of choosing a different method of making money online? Instead of focusing on authority sites and writing content, how about focusing on PPC or on Facebook advertising? There is more than one way to earn an income online. Whatever you choose to do in the future I respect your decision and wish you all the very best. Kind regards, Dev.

Thank for your comment. I don't underestimate the teaching power of WA, but I don't underestimate the power of hummingbird too. That combat that power is beyond my reach.

Many thanks to the remarkable words, in my opinion much too picked a good lesson.

Sorry to read you are leaving the community. Patience is key here. The sales will come, your articles will begin to rank. WA affiliate is there for you give it sometime.

What a shame, Peter, to give up on yourself. Why let the negativity win? Your age does not matter whether you can have success or not. It is obvious to me that you can write because I read your post.

What I see is you are complicating things. KEEP IT SIMPLE! The simple truth is, follow the steps outlined in the training and you will succeed. Your site not being up to par with Google just means you are still learning, not that you are a failure.

The content on your pages can be rewritten to be informative for your reader, which will rank with Google.

Thank for your comment, I appreciate it. Allow me to tell you that I feel not ashamed. I think I made a wise decision. To write on a regular basis content in accordance with hummingbird it to aggravating form. I can't be competitive with professionals who have their sites ranked on the first 25 page. You have to be aware of your own possibilities!

I find it a shame when somebody tells us he's already left and leaves for all the wrong reasons. Hummingbird is a boon for this community and compliance with it is easier than ever. I hope someone allows Peter to read this and that he can resurrect his account.

Paul - I can understand Peter's frustration. I tried reading through the official gugle explanation of hummingbird and it even further addled my tired old brain. Your summary of it and post on LSI made the issues much clearer. You could have a career as a Guglemeister! :) george

It's my full time job to make difficult things easy to understand George. Just gurgle crimsonleaf for he full story lol.

Hi Paul, yes hummingbird will be a boon not only for this community but for the whole professional e-commerce. So called "newbies" do have to study it in depth. I am a newbie and I do not have the courage anymore to start with a new study. Hopefully you have now a better picture of the reason why I left.
By the way, I went through the two post you advised me to read. It is completely clear to me that you are not a newbie, but I was already aware of that.
Did you read "SEO Enigma" from Jon Shawcross?

Not to my knowledge Peter, although I've read a great deal of other stuff. I just went to their webpage and it's singularly the worst I've seen for a while, offering no information whatsoever (http://seoenigma.com). John even gets his own web address wrong on the YouTube video.

The essence of Hummingbird is that there's nothing to study. That's the whole point. Google has been fighting with people who have learned to game the system and it appears to have won. All one needs to do is to write naturally, without over-stuffing with keywords, to get a better result than before.

In your case, having read your farewell letter, I judged that you are enough of a writer to cope admirably with the new changes. If English is a second language for you (and there's no clue apart from your name that it might be) then I could understand your reservations, but Google is just looking for naturally-written content.

And thanks for the compliment, but I am a total newbie when it comes to Google's machinations, but I read a lot more than I write!

Peter, if you read these two articles you'll see why Hummingbird does the exact opposite of what you're claiming:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/paul-dean/blog/google-hummingbird
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/paul-dean/blog/latent-semantic-indexing-why-it-matters

Paul, despite you are telling me that what I write is exact the opposite I don't see a reason to defend what I wrote about hummingbird. I didn't go into details about hummingbird. I just want to explain to the community why I unsubscribed.

If you think I'm asking you to defend anything Peter, then you've misjudged my post and my intent. Have a nice life.

G'day, Peter. I have no idea whether this comment will reach you. Having struggled through setting up a wordpress site, the hummingbird link was fascinating! Especially when it suggests we reverse engineer competitor's backlink profiles. Oh, really?
:) george

Thank you George. Hummingbird is, what I said indeed fascinating but you have to put a lot of time in it to make it profitable. To my idea Google is separating the chaff from wheat. It will take to long for me to become wheat.
