Wealthy Affiliate Scam?

I am so glad that Wealthy Affiliate decided to do the 10 day free trial for people. I found this site a few years ago and was extremely wary. Not only was it somewhat expensive (if you have no idea how much goes into working online) for beginning people, but it was being promoted by LOTS of people. Now I guess you would think that all these people promoting it would make it look more legitimate. Unfortunately, I have realized that my views of a site instantly drop 1000% if there is multitudes of randomly bolded phrases, there are six different colors used throughout the text, and the person keeps saying the same thing over and over (literally) for thousands of words without actually saying anything else.

Is it just me, or does seeing bright green, yellow, orange, some red, blue, and of course black just scream PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR MONEY HAHAHAHA?

Either way, after a day here I am extremely pleased with the information being provided. I have been writing copy, articles, blog, etc for extra cash online and really never gave it much thought how all the work was being used. So essentially, Wealthy Affiliate is making it possible for me to take the things I have been doing and putting it towards something that could prove to be more lucrative. I have an affiliate account with an adult site and haven't done anything with it at all. Reading through some of the blogs and the training have given me great ideas for promoting and driving traffic. I am looking forward to putting things in action for not only my current site but new niche sites in the future.

I agree that everyone should be wary. This is just good use of your instints and can save your but over and over. I am happy here, it is delivering everything Kyle said it would deliver, nuff said!

Welcome, Pearl! Sometimes I wish WA was more like a scam, where you just push a button to make money. (Allegedly) Unfortunately, this is actual work. You will need to write dozens of articles a month to climb the search rankings. But, supposedly, the work pays off. Let's noob our way forward and see if that's true.

I can attest that it does pay off. I started off in the same position as everyone else and I can honestly say that the opportunity online only continues to grow, if anything. Don't fear competition, fear not taking action.

PS. I am still looking for that magic button and I will let you know when I find it.

Lol

To be honest, I would be weary of investing my money into anything that claimed to help you create an online business these days. There are many scams and there are many vultures attempting to make money off of "hope". People "hope" the next product is going to be the next one that works for them.

I think you are going to come to find that things are much different here and you will see that Carson and I truly want to create something that benefits YOU, benefits your success, benefits your working relationships and is a safe haven from all of the other "junk" that you will find out there.

Everything you need is here, including the support. If you ever need anything, let me know. :)

Hi Pearl.

There wasn't a free trial when I signed up so I too was very, very wary about all the red flags surrounding WAU. I even mentioned that in my first blog post the day I joined and illustrated it with a photo of a red flag!

I don't believe that WAU is for "everyone". The 10-day-free-trial now means prospective Members get to see what's here and whether it's what they want. It happened to be exactly what I was looking for, so after my first months paid membership expired, I signed up for a year-in-advance. I spend more on my Lynda subscription than I do for WAU and I use that a whole lot less.

If you too end up being here for the long-haul, I hope you'll consider blogging your experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly. I enjoy following my fellow noobs, I love my "ah, me too" moments!

Best wishes.

Rich.

Hello again. I too am wary of scams - because I've been scammed. The best advice I always give to new people is to ask questions. Never sit and worry that they may be foolish - just ask. Too many people don't make the progress they want to because they don't ask (and listen to the answers)

Welcome to WA. When I found WA myself they were pretty much the first site I found at the time that offered so much but I was a tad hesitant at first. You know what made me join? There was a link that allowed me to message Kyle & he responded. Just the fact that the people running the site got back to me made me think you know what give it a shot. I'm real happy I did.

Yes, the colored text just screams SCAM to me. The thing is, if you provide good quality content it creates a feeling of trust in your reader. And guess what, when people trust you, they are more apt to spend money with you.

Bolded text can be helpful if used judiciously but in moderation.

Glad you are pleased with your decision, hope you can continue here when your free trial expires.

Pearl, Welcome to WAU! I can tell you I looked around for a way to make money on the internet since about 1996. Just about everything I ran across was a scam of some kind. I've been here about two years and I can tell you this is the Real Deal! This is one place you can learn how do make money honestly and correctly. It is not get rich quick, but it is real. I wish you well and much success. Learn the systems, use the tools and help that is available you will do fine.
