60 Days at Wealthy Affiliate — A Real Reflection
Good morning WA family. It’s 9:56 a.m. where I am, and today — January 30, 2026 — marks the day I promised myself I’d pause and reflect on my journey here.
A Quick Clarification
Some people are confused when I call myself a newbie, because my profile shows a start date of November 29, 2014.
Here’s the truth.
That’s when Wealthy Affiliate first crossed my radar. I was researching online marketing and looking into Affilorama when I came across an article by Nathaniel about WA. I joined the free Starter account, wasted the first 7 days, then upgraded.
But my timing wasn’t right. Life stepped in. Responsibilities — what I call “matters of state” — took priority, and WA went to the back burner.
I tried again in 2020, but the season still wasn’t right.
So yes — I was around.
But this is my first real run.
What Changed?
Two things.
1. Me.
I’ve always been the responsible one — husband, father, problem-solver. I helped others build their dreams, provided the soft landing, carried the weight, together with my wife Cheryl. Meanwhile, my own dreams kept getting postponed.
This time, I chose me.
2. The Platform.
Kyle’s 2025 presentation about AI caught my attention. I was already interested in AI, but every other platform I saw came with hidden catches or unclear agendas.
WA felt different. Clear. Structured. Practical.
So I made a decision: I’m not postponing my goals anymore.
Wealthy Affiliate: Then vs Now
Comparing WA today to 2014 is like comparing chalk and cheese.
What used to take me days now takes less than an hour.
Tools like:
- Image Studio
- Design Studio
- Updated training structure
- AI integration
…have completely changed the pace and possibilities.
It honestly feels like I joined at the right time, not the wrong one.
Core Training — My Honest Take
The Positives
✔ Extremely beginner-friendly (always has been)
✔ Step-by-step guidance from niche to website to content
✔ Practical learning — you build while you learn
✔ Reduced tech overwhelm
✔ Support system when you get stuck
But here’s the part people miss…
The training works if you work.
No platform replaces effort. WA removes confusion, but you still have to show up.
Final Thoughts
I’m not here because it’s easy.
I’m here because it’s possible.
After years of postponing, I’ve learned something:
There’s never a “perfect time.”
There’s only the moment you decide your goals matter too.
For me, that moment is now.

Powerful reflection, Paul. This really resonates, especially the part about choosing yourself and realizing there’s never a perfect time. Your honesty about the journey, the platform, and the personal growth behind it makes this incredibly relatable. It truly does feel like the right season for you, and your mindset shows it. Wishing you continued focus and momentum on this run you’re building something meaningful.
My journey is not unlike yours. I came back 14 months ago - so I've now 'properly' been here a year longer than you. Just like you, I love the new platform, I love the AI training, I love the community... and I have been logged in and taken part here every single day since and I have loved it all.
Wishing you a great February and lots of progress!
Isabella
Hey Isabella, How is your day (for you it's probably evening).
Thanks for reading commenting and sharing, I appreciate it.
Just saying ^_^ Cheers
Ps - My other post compliment this one - My second month at WA, check it out
All good here, thank you. It's early evening here - 5,43 pm. I'll read your other post in a little while.
Thanks for sharing Paul, you have made some incredible progress already and I really do love have you have immersed yourself in the platform/community here. We appreciate you, and I look forward to seeing your next update and seeing you continue to progress. :)
Hey Kyle,
This is unexpected. One of my primary goals is to bring WA to the Caribbean, especially Trinidad and Tobago, in a big way. I see the platform as the vehicle to grow that business in our area. Not that there are not other people probable doing it already here.
Right now I'm continuing to develop the tools and infrastructure I believe I need to get he job done. But again my style, Action, then talk.
Just saying ^-^ Cheers Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Thank you for sharing your journey Paul!
I love how you embraced the moment and put your goals first.
Your honesty and persistence are inspiring.
Proof that it’s never too late to start!
Thanks Peter,
I had promised Monica, that I would report on my journey to date.
however, I now need to do two other parts, what I actually learned and my February plan. I don't plan for a year, I plan with flexibility in mind, so my plan is now focused on February.

I think a lot of us do something like this, Paul.
