Are YOU an Amazon Affiliate?
Hi everyone? After seeing some of my Co-WA members getting canceled from Amazon from making personal purchases, it made me leery about ordering for myself too!
Today, I emailed Amazon personally to ask the "BIG QUESTION" - How do I make a personal order without affecting my affiliate account in a negative way?!?
Here's the reply I got:

Message From Customer ServiceHello Paula,
I'm sorry about the confusion on how to place an order so it doesn't affect you as an affiliate, but I'll be happy to clarify.
As long as you don't click through your links, you can purchase anything you want from Amazon.com without it affecting you. If you're asking so that you can test your links to make sure they're working, as long as you only place one, it won't negatively impact you in any way.
I hope this helps. We hope to see you again soon.
We'd appreciate your feedback. Please use the buttons below to vote about your experience today.

I have been waiting to become one of Amazon's affiliate but I think the Philippines is not qualified.
Hi accad and thanks for checking out the post here! Not sure why they wouldn't. Do you use ShareASale?
There's two things:
-Did you try contacting them and asking?
-I almost think you could sign up under amazon.com and add Philippines using their new onelink program. It may be worth checking into.
Also, I checked an SEO Forum where they briefly discussed this and a guy said he was an affiliate of Amazon, but they do not have Amazon.ph... when they paid him in was in a check form and he had no way to cash it because not affording a dollar account. He requested them to change his payment to gift card, which he was going to sell on ebay. The forum was called Blackhatworld com
---------------------------------------------
This is what he said,
"I am a filipino and yes I did promote amazon products before. I was able to get to the min. payout and my payment method was via check. They mailed me a check of my payment. The problem was I didn't find anywhere here in our country to encash that check. I ask a bank about it and they advice me to open a dollar savings account so that I can deposit that check to my account. My problem that time is the min. deposit and also maintaining balance was $500 and I don't have the money to open a dollar account.
So what I did is ask amazon to transfer my payment to gift card cause I wasn't able to encash the check and sell that gift card in ebay.
This is my experience but it was around 2 years ago so it could be different right now.
Hope that helps."

Anyway, best of luck with the Amazon situation. If you get onboard with them, make sure you read through their agreement. They can get a little sneaky knowing folks don't read. =)
I forgot to tell you, I googled that by entering the words,
"can you be an amazon affiliate in Philippines" =)
I tend to go with Clickbank. These are digital products and there is a very large selection. The commissions start at about 50%.
Oh wow!!! Hmmm, now you've got me thinkin'!! hahaha... Not sure what they'd have that I could promote... I'll look into that. Thanks for sharing. =)
Great info to pass along to the group here. We hear it all the time about negative Amazon experiences.
I'm an Amazon affiliate and so far so good!
Thanks Paula!

Me too Mark! After hearing others losing their affiliate positions, I thought I better find out how to order before just doing it! So glad I did.
