Protecting Endangered Animals
As many people know, many species of animals are being hunted to the point of near extinction. The disgustingly sad fact is that these animals are not being hunted for their meat as food, but as mere trophies for the rich and famous that are bored and don't care much about environmental protection. We all remember the story of the rare lion Cecil (?) being killed by an American dentist.
The fact is that we need all the assorted animals we have on earth because everything is valuable in the quilt of life. I hate to admit that the nasty reptiles are a part of this quilt, but yes indeed they are too.
Recently, however, it seems the endangered animals have been fighting back, and I have heard quite a few stories in recent days of hunters becoming the hunted by these animals!
So it is with great pleasure that I learned that my favorite (unvisited) country, Botswana, is a protective sanctuary for endangered animals, and forbids the hunting of them anywhere in Botswana! The more I learn about Botswana, the more I love that country. My love affair started with the reading of The Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency Series by Alexander McCall, and delving into the psyche of Botswana. Then I began googling pictures of the land and reading up on its history, etc. It is a fascinating place, and I hope to visit it in the flesh one day.
Even in the U.S., I read somewhere that the red wolf (I think) is down to something like 27 left in the wild!
People, we have to do better than that. We are not the only species allowed to survive on earth!

We must continue the push to protect the animals and their habitats. All living things are intertwined. Every time we lose a species because of our poor stewardship, we lose a bit of ourselves.
Yes, you are so right there are more and more endangered species in the world. Humans take their habitat or killing them for something they believe helps their life or making quick money.
We are not alone on this planet there are other species too, we have to start protecting our world. If everyone does a bit we are able to achieve something great. Together we are strong
I agree with your call to action for the protection of animals.
I really enjoyed reading the "Ladies No 1 Detective Agency Series."
Good for you delving more deeply into the psyche of Botswana. I hope you get to visit there one day.
Cheers,
Susan
That's great news Botswana the former Bechuanaland is a huge area of wildebeest and other African animals!

Sound post, I read somewhere that bees are on the endangered species list , kind of says it all really, we need to lift our game.
Yes, indeed. Bees are highly endangered, and without them, we eventually have no food. Thanks for sharing.
