Happier Than a Pig in Mud
It's happening!
Over the last two weeks of being a premium member I've been spending as much time as possible writing quality, informative, keyword rich posts and doing very minimal marketing. I've been focusing almost all of my efforts on writing and researching. I've posted to Facebook and G+ a couple of times, but that's it.
On the 17th my website went live with a real domain and started ranking with about 10 articles. The site now has 16 articles and I'm seeing about 10 sessions per day. Only 5 days after launching! This is so exciting. I'm averaging 2 pages per session and a 60% bounce rate, which is insane because many of the case studies I've been reading only see this kind of success after a month or two of work. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I'm so excited and I had to share this.
So what does this prove? I have no idea. Maybe it's the magic WA touch, maybe it's focusing on high quality content, I really can't be sure what's setting my site apart. I am fairly confident, however, that the low bounce rate at such an early stage is due to the simplicity and ease of use of my site, whereas many other sites may look rougher at an early stage. I'm not saying it's anything special, but I think it's enough to encourage users to stay and poke around a bit.
I've recently posted an article I think is going to be incredibly marketable, so I'm excited to start spreading the link around and see where that takes me. Other than that I think I'll keep doing what's been working for me and continue to write the best articles I can.
I hope you can take something away from my story! Feel free to drop a comment, I'm always open to feedback and discussion :). Have a good one, thank you for reading.
Patrick

This is exactly what you should be doing, Patrick. I think you're definitely on the right track, focusing on content. Google's going to reward you for that.
Thanks for the kind words and support, it's good to know that a seasoned member such as yourself thinks in headed in the right direction :)
