Nowadays I find my moods changing as one minute I'm very enthusiastic but this mood might change in a twingle of the eyes to a very emotional one. You will agree with me that people do have different feelings depending of their environment or situation in their stage of life. Which statement best describe your feelings or mood at present? 'I have problems as I cannot control my temper'. 'I am always rejected by people, and I cannot make friends'. I'm a total failure as I can't see myself doing anything right'. 'I am always love and successful'.

You may have chosen one of these listed feelings above or you have some of your own that affects your emotions right now. Our feelings always control our mood and this can affect us on a daily basis or longer than necessary. How then can we control bad emotions.

To start with, emotions is really part of humans and sometimes they are not to get rid off completely from human nature. In some way, it's good to have emotions because this can be of benefit to a person. Most of the time people show emotions in a situation when they are facing a tough time. For example, recently in the news, a 13 years old boy open a gun shot on his school mates and killed some while he left some injured. In another country, a man went into a place of worship and shot some worshippers there down and afterwards killed himself.

Sometimes when people find life overwhelming and it seems to be overbearing, their emotions take control of them leading to anger or depression. They get frustrated, blamed themselves or sometimes blamed others. Truly, at times your trouble might be your own fault or others might wronged you deliberately or not. This person therefore feel very sad and find no joy at that particular time in question- they become emotional.

This emotion needs to be controlled but how? Is revenge the solution?

First you need to prevent the anger that comes with the emotions. You need to understand how to analyse the problem. Learn how to calm your heart down as to making a right decision which will not lead to a regret. Practice self control attitude to quench the temper in you if you are highly emotional. Being mindful may help in managing that emotions too. You can learn to observe negative thoughts and emotions without allowing these to control your actions or reactions.

Another way to deal with emotions is to use positive self -talk. If possible approach the person that offended you to discuss matter with them. Seek support, reach out to people network around you, and people that care for you may be of good help in this situation.

Having a productive and regular activity to do can keep one busy to deal with emotions. A person might also choose to learn a new hobby, do regular exercise, and join in a socializing events. These activities might help to improve the mood, and reduce stress, which in turn can balance the emotions.

As emotions are natural and cannot be completely eradicated in human, they are not to control a person. Yes emotions can be kept in check so that bad feelings would not control the heart decision- sometime these decisions can be disastrous. In one word, one should try as much as possible to control bad feelings so to regulate emotions.

To stay on track it is vital to recognize that sometimes one will get off track, even way off track. Recognizing that this is okay and normal is a great weapon to have to combat reacting badly to vacillating feelings.

Being able to look at oneself from a higher point of view takes time and practice. At first, emotion wins. After time and practice, the mind can be victorious.

Taking action certainly is a cure for depression, and action combined with a supportive community is a winning combination without equal.

This is a great post, OSefunmi! Keep up the great work!
