When The Stars Align
I was really excited when I realised what I had stumbled onto in finding myself here at WA. It is amazing how things align at the right time. The timing was absolutely perfect for me.
Financial Ruin
Three years ago I was made redundant, I was one of 43% of the full-time female workers of the company to be made redundant, a very large percentage compared to the number of males made redundant.
My financial life went down the drain as I was in a high paying job and had invested in property, the real estate market was affected in the area I worked in as well, and my property reduced in value by more than 60%. I was unable to secure a job with the same pay or anywhere near enough to pay the mortgages.
I also embarked on legal action against the company shortly after the redundancy, challenging them about how they had treated their female workers pre-redunancy, part of which contributed to myself and the other women being chosen for redundancy (trying to stand up for our rights at work - sexist behaviours, bullying and intimidation).
The legal action finished last year, I got some money, and an agreement regarding their female workers, the money wasn't enough for me to recover financially, but enough to move on, the stress of it all was horrendous.
Happiness
Three years later, the bank has ceased my properties and I am about to declare bankruptcy, once they are sold. I live in a shed and a caravan, I have no real money - but I am the happiest I have ever been! I am happy because I am free of the 'treadmill', and I get to be creative with my website building and the content. I finally get to focus on the things that I am in love with... music, singing, playing, writing, photography, relaxing, my dogs, my family and friends (I don't have children).
Most of all though, I am happy because I will finally be able to really focus on my life purpose, and put my 'stuff' out there that is going to help others and enable me to contribute in that way, with my spiritual and well-being interests.
Once my sites are up and running and I get a little money up, I want to be able to go off in a campervan, settle the Gypsy in me once and for all, do some travelling in 'spitz and spurtz', visit people, take this (IM) and my loves with me, but eventually come home and build that little cottage on the poplar tree lined block down the road!
I'm not worried about money overall, I have enough for now... I only want to do what makes me happy. I can see though, the potential for both through WA, and am ever so grateful that I landed here. I've been going through the lessons and doing each step along the way. I've purchased 7 domain names and relish the thought of building out those sites :), but for now have been working on just the one site...those seeds will sprout soon enough!
...and there is my first blog done!
