The Qualities of Quiet WA Giants Among Us

You hear them on YouTube. In ads that pop up aggressively on your site. They shout really quietly that they got a secret formula that will make you an almost instant success. You better hurry because the last seat will soon be gone. Tick Toc The clock's ah ticking. You almost feel like you are missing out on the next big thing. But it’s all noise. Distraction. Back in the day, these slick quick talking salesman would all be selling snake oil.

\What however has been very refreshing for me, over the last few weeks has been, the particularly high standard of discussion on topics that have had a direct impact on improving my understanding of how to grow my business.

What has been particularly refreshing is the very selfless members that have shared their experience. Freely giving away their formulas and potions. Giving personal advice immediately when asked. These guys and girls are phenomenal but usually quiet WA stars.

It’s the beauty of their mindsets that blow my mind.

Here’s what I believe these quiet winners, who are geniuses in one area of their life, do differently:

1. They go out of their way to explain.

They don’t ever really consider themselves masters in their various areas of focus. They are constantly learning and perfecting their process. They see another member struggling and they are quick to lend a helping hand. Often they will go way beyond expectations neglecting areas of their own lives all to the benefit of the wider community.

2. They don’t care about looking like a winner.

They are not into tooting their own horns. They are not looking for praise. They shy away mostly from excessive adulation and praise. That is not to say that they don’t want a thank you. They do. But they are quiet about their success only sharing their stories mostly to uplift and motivate others so that we too can be inspired to achieve best-in-class results.

3. They provide mind-provoking discussions.

They present approaches that are real mind-benders. They make us reexamine our normal understanding with new hypotheses. They ask us to question well-established formulas and to come up with variations. Heck, sometimes they ask us to look away from the tried and tested and to break the mold to come up with our own unique methods. Very inspiring.

4. They give the credit to other people.

They have no inflated egos. They are not about Me Me Me. They want to chill behind the scenes and out of the spotlight so that you or the team can get the credit. Their supporters want to thank them publicly but they quickly say that the success is all theirs. They believe that no one can get left behind and that we all must be strong together to achieve.

5. They can make fun of themselves.

They don’t take themselves overly seriously. They can make light of situations and poke fun at themselves, always in a bid to improve understanding. They break the tension and put us at ease with their quirky sense of humor.

Conclusion

You can be a quiet leader and achieve amazing successes. You certainly do not need to be brash and loud to stand out. You don't have to be pushy to get respected or heard.

Winning is not about shouting from the mountaintops so that you can be the object of full attention. Winning is about getting lost in the work and sharing selflessly.
