developing a writing muscle

A reminder from my Amazon Affiliate account is an indication that this is my third month here on WA...and being here at WA means that you have to create content for your website(s), which means a lot of writing. Kyle says you don't have to be a great writer and there is the Site Content feature that is great at helping you to organize your content creation. but what if you was always a reader like i am and not a writer. that is my difficulties that am facing so far. Bo suggest that a website should have up to ten posts so that a site would be easier to get an SEO ranking.

So am a podcast listener and an avid reader of books. One of my favorite pod-caster is James Altucher.. and he suggest that one can develop the muscle to do anything one wants to and if you don't use it, it will go through atrophy...so my writing muscle got atrophied from the days of college when i used to write tons of term papers and assignments...so while am here at WA, am gonna have to get my writing muscle going again.

I am sure you will develop that easy. Once you have it, you will never lose it!

Oneij28,
I am a writer and love to write, but I'll tell you, I write everyday in order to keep myself sharp. I believe that some may think that when they write something, it should be a work of art. However, this is not the case for almost everyone.

A better practice is to download your thoughts first in whatever order they come, this may be a big mess on the screen. At that point, put on your editor cap and spend an equal or double the amount of time cleaning the article up. This is really where things are written - in the edit!

Notice the time frame for editing. Sometimes I write, edit, then sleep on the article and wake up to re-read it 3 to 4 times. It's not that writing is so difficult, it's that the proper cycle of writing takes more time than once thought.

My thoughts on the subject from a writer's point of view. LOL

I am right there with you

It's kind of like having a brain and not using it - it just deteriorates! I think if you have written a lot of papers before, then you are more than capable of doing it again. And I am sure that you will. I like the analogy of a writing muscle - much like you never forget to ride a bike - you just have to do it again! Just persevere, here at WA you will make it, just put in that effort and the sky is the limit!

and also to get back in the frame of mind to do it again..thanks Deborah for the encouragement

This will be a bit easier than writing those college term papers. This can be more like a conversation with a friend. That hopefully will help you through the process!

You're right about that, my term papers use to be a lot longer
