Hindsight is 2020

Like each and every year, the curtains opened up on 2019 with lots of pump, beautiful hopes, dreams and great expectations. In retrospect, for many it's been a beautiful year. For others, it has been a challenging year. For most, I dare say that it's been a mix.

Taking stock, it is important that we truthfully answer the hard questions that stare us right in the face. What did we plan to do and what did we actually get done. Were the goals for the year S-M-A-R-T goals, that is, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic/Relevant and Time-Based. Were they so rigid that we could achieve either all or nothing. How did we fare? What were the odds? What lessons were learnt? What things can be done differently?

Without necessarily laying blames we need to review the year and identify time stealers, vision spoilers as much as we need to identify unrealistic goals. The essence is because as the curtain drops over 2019 and a brand new 2020 emerges, the battle for success in the new year commences.

Obviously no one wants to repeat the mistakes of the past, rather we all seek to grow, improve and get better.

So while looking forward, the time is right to set new goals. It is time to dream again. It is time to lace up our shoes because a new lap in the marathon of life is about to begin. 2019 is running its final lap to hand over baton to 2020. As this exchange happens, we need to be prepared with what to accomplish and how.

I am convinced that 2020 holds an incredible ace that I cannot afford to miss. Glad that I am ending 2019 with WA Premium in the kitty. Therefore with the benefit of hindsight, navigating the future is much easy.
